Welcome to Evans County Schools
Claxton Elementary, Middle, and High Schools are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Georgia Accrediting Commission. District accreditation as a Quality School System was attained in 2007, and the district's accreditation was renewed in 2012. Our district has also been recognized as a High Achieving Title I District for 'Closing the Achievement Gap', one of only four in the state of Georgia.
We place our emphasis on students first! Student enrollment stands at approximately 1,800 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Enrichment opportunities are numerous, and our gifted programs are excellent. Opportunities for academic intervention and enrichment are provided before, during and after school. Caring administrators, teachers, and staff are dedicated to achieving our goal of Ensuring High Levels of Learning for All!
