May 17 Graduation Update Due to the projected weather for Saturday, CHS graduation will be moved indoors to the CHS Gym/Durell Lynn Arena with the CHS Cafetorium serving as an overflow for a video stream of graduation. We realize this is not ideal as limited seating will apply. The safety of our Tiger students, staff, families, and community members is our number one priority. Each graduate has 12 tickets to share with parents, family, and friends. Due to safety guidelines, all guests must have a ticket to enter. ---Two tickets designated for parent/family floor passes for gym ---Seven tickets designated for gym bleacher seating ---Three tickets designated for overflow seating in the cafeteria (there will be a video stream of graduation in the cafeteria) We ask for and appreciate your patience and flexibility as we prepare to celebrate this AWESOME Class of 2024! Coach Lanier's class has been using the debate process to help them formulate argumentative essays. A recent topic students debated was whether schools should be able to discipline students for what they say on social media. Opening arguments, where they introduced their argument and acknowledged their side, served as their claim. Through the debate portion, each side argued their claim and justified their arguments. The opposing side listened and took notes. Each team was given time to research their opposition's information provided during the debate so that counterclaims/rebuttals could be established. During the closing arguments, teams put together a summary of the information that supported their argument. They could then compile all the information from the debate into an argumentative essay. #PreworkIsVital #ResearchToWrite #BlackAndGold
