8th Grade students in Mrs. Stephens's science classes created their products for the Periodic Party next Tuesday! Students used collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity to plan and create recipes to demonstrate their learning about chemical bonding and the periodic table. Students were also able to redesign or improve their recipes, if they were unsuccessful the first day, as part of the engineering design process. #4Cs #projectbasedlearning

6th graders in Mrs. Ikner's Language Arts classes are using SOLE (Self-Organized Learning Environment) research/group collaboration to learn new information. Mrs. Shaul’s 3rd graders collaborated to use their creativity and critical thinking skills to create a solar oven. Students planned, constructed, and tested out their solar ovens to make s’mores. Students had to make adjustments when the wind began blowing their solar ovens. Quick thinking led to a student’s suggestion of rocks to hold them down! #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily --

From now through December 9, CES will be collecting canned goods to donate to the Evans County Food Bank. Students, please bring a canned or non-perishable food item to help others in need. This is one way we can put our “Live to Give” mindset into action. This is a grade-level competition! Who can collect the most? We will celebrate the generosity of our grade-level winner and teachers with an extra special recess!
