It's not magic! It's a tensegrity table! How does it work? According to Rebecca Johnson, the maker of this table, it works through compression and tension.
On Monday, Johnson's table was entered in the FFA Project Competition at the Sunbelt Agricultural Expo in Moultrie, Georgia. The results of this contest will be released tomorrow. Good luck, Rebecca!

Students in Mrs. Lane's Introduction to Business class applied their knowledge on basic economics in an Escape Room activity. Two teams competed to "escape" first.
Claxton High School chemistry students in Mr. Hodgson's class have been discussing different types of solutions. In lab, students worked together to compare unsaturated, saturated, and supersaturated solutions by dissolving Sodium Thiosulfate in water. Students began by shaking Sodium Thiosulfate crystals in a test tube until no more could be dissolved making a saturated solution. Students then added more crystals and heated up the solution. Destiny Mendoza explained that "using heat dissolves the extra crystals, because water particles move faster". This creates a supersaturated solution. From the supersaturated solution, students were able to create their own crystals by adding a piece of string and a seed crystal. The addition of the seed crystal causes recrystallization of the Sodium Thiosulfate that has been dissolved due to the supersaturated solution. Students were actively engaged in this lab as they collaborated with partners, critically thought about their responses to reflection questions, and communicated their thought processes.
