Did you realize that make-up is a form of art? Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Jackson collaborated to allow students the opportunity to experiment with the application of stage make-up. Bruises, black eyes, and sores were among the effects created today.

Homemade egg rolls were on the menu today in Culinary Arts! Students fine-tuned their mincing skills and learned the binding elements of the egg.
Graham Hughes, a Scottish filmmaker, writer, and editor, made a virtual visit to Mr. Hallman's Audio-Video classes today. Hughes' breakout work was "Death of a Vlogger." He talked to the students about his experiences filming and making the most of limited time, equipment, and circumstances.

Report cards and flu shot forms are being sent home this Friday, October 8.
Marketing Salesperson, Mandy Croft visited Ms. Adams' 6th Grade Career Awareness class today to discuss the 4Ps of marketing (product, price, place, promotion), and what a career in marketing is like. They asked questions and received a mask with Mrs. Croft's company logo on it.

Students in Mr. Sapp's STEM class are learning how different sounds, makeup, illusions, stunts, and animations in movies and TV are related to STEM. They learned Foley sounds, stunts that were engineered for safety, how animations come to life, and how movie makeup is done.
Please note that the Jungle Jam band competition that was scheduled for this weekend had been cancelled.
Ms. Thigpen and Ms. Melissa's class watching CHS students dress in their fire gear and learning about fire safety from the Claxton Fire Department.
October is Fire Safety Month! Firefighting recruits visited pre-kindergarten today and showed their equipment to admiring youngsters.

In Culinary Arts class, second graders enjoyed decorating sugar cookies. They enjoyed eating them even more!
In Mrs. Hendrix's and Mrs. McKinnon's kindergarten class, the students learned about Johnny Appleseed and his birthday. They talked and read about apples. They finished off the lesson with a craft of making their own apples using construction paper.
