On 3/19/25, CHS students traveled to Baxley, GA to attend the Law Enforcement and First Responder Agency Expo! 🎉👮‍♂️🚒 Our students had an amazing opportunity to explore careers in law enforcement and emergency services. They interacted with professionals from agencies like: ✅ FBI ✅ DEA ✅ GBI & GBI Crime Lab ✅ US Marshals ✅ Army & National Guard ✅ Local Sheriff & Police Departments Students also witnessed some incredible demonstrations including: 💥 Detonation of explosives 🔥 Extinguishing an inflamed propane tank 🐾 K-9 unit in action ⚡️ Live taser demo 🚁 Walkthrough of a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter 🎯 Shooting simulations and more! If you stopped by Mrs. LaKeisha Welch's room today, you may have thought you were at a hospital! Nurse aide students were preparing for their mock drills. These drills must be passed before clinicals can be pursued. Today's practice sessions were based on student-identified areas of weakness. Some of the skills reviewed and practiced were bedpan assistance, bed bathing, and the donning of compression socks.
