🍀✨ A Magical St. Patrick’s Day in Mrs. Kelly’s Kindergarten Class! ✨🌈

Mrs. Kelly's kindergarten class had a magical time celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! 💚✨
Students practiced their counting skills using Lucky Charms cereal 🍀🥣 and got creative by building colorful rainbows with Fruit Loops, marshmallows, and pipe cleaners 🌈✨.
There were lots of smiles and laughter as they enjoyed their tasty treats and hands‑on activities. It was a fun‑filled day of learning that our little learners truly enjoyed!
And the best part? They even had a surprise visit from a messy little Leprechaun! 🍀🧹😆

This week in PreK we went on a camping adventure! 🏕️

Our little campers had so much fun learning all about the outdoors. We explored number lines, practiced counting like true trail explorers, and talked about our favorite wildlife animals we might see while camping. The students loved sharing their favorite animals and learning more about the creatures that live in the forest. 🦌🐻🦉

To end our week of learning, we had a special camping adventure during nap time! The classroom turned into a cozy campsite where our campers rested in their “tents” and enjoyed a fun, imaginative experience together.

It was such a fun week full of learning, creativity, and adventure. Our PreK campers did an amazing job! ⛺✨

Our middle school artists are busy mastering three new painting techniques:
1️⃣ Bob Ross-inspired landscapes 🌲
2️⃣ Monochromatic value studies 🎨
3️⃣ Experimental drip painting 💧

We are so proud of these students for stepping outside their comfort zones and trying new tools. You'll be able to see these masterpieces in person at our art show on April 14th!

🔥🧡 5th Grade Takes on the Lava Challenge! 🧡🔥

Our 5th graders have been hard at work in PE class building their teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills as they navigated their way across the “lava” to safety!

This exciting activity challenged students to think strategically, support one another, and work together to reach their goal. We love seeing their leadership and teamwork shine!

We’re excited to celebrate all the amazing ways agriculture feeds, clothes, and supports our community!

Join us March – for Down on the Farm at CES! Each day has a fun theme:
🐮 Monday – Moo‑ve Into Ag Week!
Dress like or wear something representing a farm animal.
🍓 Tuesday – Farm to Table!
Wear something that shows your favorite farm‑grown food.
👖 Wednesday – Field to Fabric!
It’s Denim & Cotton Day—break out the jeans and cotton gear!

🐾 Paws-itive Impact at CMS!
Mrs. Smith’s 7th-grade Career classes recently wrapped up a successful donation drive for the Evans County Animal Shelter, collecting food, blankets, and toys to help our furry friends in need.

To celebrate their hard work, the students received a special visit on Friday from Code Enforcement Officers Anderson and Purcell—and they didn't come alone! They brought a very special four-legged guest.

The students were given the honor of naming the puppy, and the winner was... Oreo! 🦴

Oreo received plenty of cuddles and ear scratches before the officers headed back to the shelter with a truckload of donations. Way to go, CMS!

This week in Ms. Thigpen and Ms. Melissa’s class, we explored the exciting world of Wildlife and Camping! 🦌🌲 Students learned about animals, nature, and what it’s like to spend time outdoors.

To wrap up the week, we had a special camping day at school! ⛺ Our class enjoyed delicious s’mores and had so much fun using headlamps to read books under the table, just like a cozy campsite at night. 🔦📚

It was a wonderful way to bring our lessons to life, and the students had a blast learning, exploring, and using their imaginations!

Transformational work is happening in Mrs. Myers’s Tiger Pride class! 🐯🤖

With just 20 minutes a day, students are immersing themselves in robotics and coding — building the critical thinking, problem-solving, and computational skills that prepare them for the future. The growth in such a short time has been nothing short of impressive.

The learning continues beyond the school day. Students in this program are offered the opportunity to extend their experience through after-school robotics and coding sessions in collaboration with Mrs. Myers and Georgia Tech professors.

Through Mrs. Myers’s partnership with Georgia Tech’s Rural Computer Science Initiative (RCSI), led by CEISMC and STEM@GTRI, middle school students in rural Georgia are receiving high-quality computer science, AI, and robotics education. Combined with Mercer University’s Developing Computer Science Master Teachers for Georgia Rural Schools program, this work is intentionally expanding access, opportunity, and exposure to advanced real-world education and career pathways.

Students are also stepping into the world of competitive robotics through hands-on VEX Robotics training — applying their skills in real, high-level learning environments.

This is dedication. This is equity in action. This is Tiger Pride.

🚜 Breaking Ground: Ag Mech 2 is Heading to the Field! 🌱

Spring is just around the corner, and our Ag Mechanics 2 students are making sure The DEN is ready! This week, students moved from the classroom to the tractor seat to begin prepping the soil for our springtime grass planting.

This hands-on lesson focused on the mastery of the three-point harrow. Operating a tractor while pulling an implement requires a high level of coordination and a "safety-first" mindset. Our Tigers aren't just driving; they are learning the technical side of agriculture, including:

Safe Operating Procedures: Mastering the "rules of the road" for agricultural machinery.

Hitch Mastery: Identifying tractor parts and the complex mechanics of attaching and removing implements.

Precision Prep: Using the harrow to break ground effectively for optimal planting conditions.

We are proud to see our students applying their classroom knowledge to real-world tasks! 🐯🖤💛
