🎄🍦 Holiday Fun in Full Swing! 🍦🎄

Mrs. Busbie, Mrs. Vaughn, and Mrs. Sowell’s classes had an absolute blast celebrating Christmas with a special party alongside our amazing parents! Students loved decorating their own Christmas Tree Ice Cream Cones—festive, creative, and delicious!

A huge thank you to all the parents who donated items and joined in to make this celebration so special. We are so grateful for your support and for helping create such joyful memories for our students! ❤️🎅✨

CMS FCA stays active with regular outings, and last Friday our students attended the Ignite Youth Conference, worshipping alongside other students from local youth groups. 🙌

🎨🎄 CMS Students Spreading Holiday Cheer 🎄🎨

CMS Visual Arts students shared the true spirit of the season by painting small artworks and decorating gift bags for the senior citizens at Glenvue. In total, students created 130 original paintings!

Each resident received a gift bag with candy, an orange, and a handmade painting to hang in their room. More importantly, our students learned the true meaning of giving — not expecting anything in return, but simply sharing joy and seeing the smiles on the faces of the residents at Glenvue. ❤️

We are so proud of our students for using their talents to make a difference!

● All attendees will go through a weapons detection system

● Alerts followed by hand-wand screening

● Zero tolerance: Weapons or dangerous items will result in removal and potential law enforcement involvement

● Middle school and younger students must be accompanied by an adult at all times

● Unsupervised students will be escorted to the gate

● If the supervising adult is not present, appropriate authorities

Claxton Elementary was filled with excitement as Santa and his elves made a special visit to spread holiday joy! Smiles were everywhere as every student received a free book, sharing the true gift of the season—the gift of reading. 📖❤️

We hope this special surprise helps encourage cozy reading moments at home over the break. From our school family to yours, we wish everyone a restful break and a very happy holiday season!

Mr. Turner's Basic Ag class is hard at work learning the science of dendrochronology (tree-ring dating)! 🧐

This hands-on technique allows students to determine a tree's exact age and even learn about its life history by examining the growth rings. What a great way to combine history, science, and agriculture! 💡

🍪 Gingerbread Fun in Ms. Thigpen & Ms. Melissa’s Class! 🍪

Our class has been busy learning all about The Gingerbread Man, and we had the sweetest week exploring this classic story in hands-on ways!

✨ We made our very own gingerbread ornaments to take home.
✨ Built festive (and very creative!) gingerbread houses.
✨ Tasted gingerbread cookies.
✨ Read different versions of The Gingerbread Man and voted on our favorite.
✨ Even turned into scientists with a gingerbread + water experiment to see what happens when a cookie meets liquid!

The students had a blast learning, exploring, and creating. What a magical way to kick off the holiday season! 🎄💛

🎄 Ag Mech Students Building Holiday Cheer! 🚂
Mr. Turner's Ag Mech 1 class students are hard at work, applying their skills to build a special wooden train for Christmas!

This project is a great way for students to master essential skills, including woodworking techniques, effective communication for collaboration, and the importance of using proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to ensure safety.

Great job blending craftsmanship with holiday spirit! 🖤💛

🎄✨ Fourth Grade Party Planners! ✨🎄

Students in Ms. Driggers’ 4th grade math classes took on a fun real-world challenge — planning a Christmas party for the entire fourth grade!

They brainstormed activities and food, then used multiplication to calculate the total cost of their party plans. Some groups dreamed big (like a full day at an amusement park!) but quickly discovered that budgeting brings real math lessons — and that things can cost more than they expected! 😄💰

Such a fun and practical way to learn! 🎉📚

🌱 Digging In: Onion Planting Day!
Mr. Turner’s Horticulture class is getting their hands dirty and growing some future flavor! 🧅🪴 Students mastered the art of planting onions, turning classroom lessons into real-world gardening skills. It was a fantastic day of hands-on learning, teamwork, and sustainable agriculture! We can't wait to watch these little sprouts grow. Future farmers and botanists in the making! 🧑‍🌾🔬
