🥬 Farm to School Freshness! 🥬
We’re excited to share that the lettuce featured in our students’ salads this week and next week comes straight from Lanes Bridge Lettuce in Odum, GA!
This crisp, locally grown lettuce is raised with care by farmer Sonya Jones, who takes pride in growing healthy, delicious produce right here in our community.
By partnering with local farms, we are able to provide students with fresh, Georgia-grown ingredients while supporting our local agricultural economy.Thank you, Sonya, for helping us serve up farm-fresh goodness in our cafeterias! 🌱🥗

Our CHS FCA huddle met Monday, November 10, 2025, for an uplifting time of fellowship and reflection during club meeting time.
The message was completely student-led, as our amazing FCA student leaders took turns speaking on the powerful theme of grace. Each leader delivered a heartfelt and authentic message, sharing their personal perspective on what grace means: receiving it from God, extending it to others, and learning to give it to ourselves.
It was an inspiring morning of student leadership, faith, and encouragement for everyone! 🙏

Coach Lanier's Advanced World History students engaged in a profound lesson on Germany between WWI and WWII, focusing on the dark tragedy of the Holocaust.
To honor the victims and survivors, students were tasked with creating a memorable wall that tells their individual stories. This project goes beyond dates and facts, helping students connect with the human cost of hatred, and ensuring we never forget the voices lost. 🖤

Our incredible Special Olympic athletes recently competed in the Local Fall Games, showcasing their skills in Bocce, bowling, and a variety of skill stations! 🏅🎳
A huge shout-out to our amazing CHS student volunteers, who kept scores, monitored activities, and cheered on the athletes every step of the way — all under the enthusiastic leadership of Coach Ustun Bardak. 🙌
The 2025 motto — “Together We Shine” — was on full display through the teamwork, encouragement, and joy shared by athletes, volunteers, families, and ECS staff. ✨
We are so proud of everyone who made this event a shining success! 🌟

Today’s session of Coffee with the Counselor was both meaningful and informative! Ms. Mincey invited special guest Ms. Lakeisha Brown, GA Apex Program Manager and Candler Counseling Center Program Manager, to speak with some of our CMS students and parents about self-harm awareness.
During the discussion, Ms. Brown shared valuable insight on why this behavior sometimes occurs, signs to look for, and how families can support students who may be struggling.
💛 If you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of depression or self-harm, please reach out — you are not alone. You can talk to a school counselor, teacher, administrator, or trusted friend/family member, or call 988 to connect with someone who can help.
We love our CMS Tigers 🐾 and want you to always remember — you have a safe place here with us!

In Mrs. Kirk’s ELA class, learners took on the role of “research detectives” as they investigated a set of fact cards about the Transcontinental Railroad 🚂.
Working in small groups, students read each fact aloud and decided how useful it was for research. They sorted information into three categories:
🧱 Concrete Facts – Specific details like names, dates, places, or numbers
⭐ Important Facts – True information, but not highly specific
☁️ Fluff – Vague, off-topic, or opinion-based details
This hands-on activity helped students practice recognizing strong, reliable information and explaining why some facts are more useful than others. It also strengthened their ability to paraphrase—putting facts into their own words for clear, original writing. ✍️
The lesson blended critical thinking, research, and writing skills in a fun, engaging way! 🌟

Regular Board Meeting
Monday, November 10, 2025 6:00pm
Central Office Professional Learning Room

🧠🧐Students were deep into the ultimate math mystery! Ms. Selph's class turned into a detective agency, working in groups to solve the case of "The Murder of Ms. Selph." 🖤💛
To crack the clues—the suspect, the weapon, and the location—students had to correctly solve challenging conditional probability problems hidden throughout the room! It was a fantastic, hands-on application of complex math concepts.
Great work, detectives! Way to use your brains to save the day (and learn math)! 🖤💛
