Mrs. Myers's 6th grade Science class recently had a comprehensive and exciting learning experience combining Databots and drones to study weather and climate. Databots, a state-of-the-art multi-sensor tool, provided live sensor data that allowed students to collect, visualize, and analyze real-time data from real-life scenarios. The students collected temperature, humidity, and air pressure data throughout the day, comparing their findings with published weather forecasts. The activity spanned several days, allowing the students to observe the current weather based on the collected data and the information they learned in class.
In addition to using Databots, the students also learned how to fly drones, which added another exciting dimension to their study of weather and climate. By taking control of the drones, they collected aerial data, providing a unique perspective on weather patterns and the surrounding environment. The students gained valuable skills and had the chance to apply their knowledge in a practical way.
Overall, the students well-received this immersive and comprehensive learning experience, and proved an effective way to bring science to life in the classroom. By combining the use of Databots and drones, the students gained a well-rounded understanding of weather and climate and valuable hands-on experience that will serve them well in their future studies. #PBL

On March 31, 2023, CMS held its March BAM (Behavior, Attendance, and no Missing Assignments) event. There were approximately 70 students who were invited to attend. These students were treated to cotton candy, inflatable axe throwing, inflatable skee ball, giant jenga, corn hole games, face painting and tattoos, and some great music. All this took place outside on a beautiful sunny day. We are very proud of our students who had great behavior, great attendance, and no missing assignments for the month of March. We hope that our BAM events motivate all students to strive for success!

Our 7 Mindsets Focus for the week is "Receive Gracefully." When good things come into our lives, we should accept them with open arms. If you are working hard and doing great things, people will notice, and they will tell you. Say thank you when people give you a compliment. Say thank you when people say you have worked hard. Just say thank you!

Don't forget that tomorrow is Tiger Pride Day! Wear you house colors to earn points for your house!

May your Easter be as bright and colorful as a rainbow, with hope, love, and happiness shining down on you and your loved ones. Happy Easter, everyone! #CES

These Easter eggs weren't hard to find!
Just before spring break, Culinary Arts students participated in a self-directed lab. Olivia Mejia chose to make this beautiful Easter bread. The process involved boiling and dying eggs, making and shaping homemade bread, and drizzling white icing to finish the bread nest.
Happy Easter!

Our favorite CMS-CHS Easter Bunnies had a fun day dyeing eggs for the students at the CMS-CHS cafe. This is a project that they all enjoy each year.
