CMS would like to congratulate our students who were chosen by their teachers as Students of the Week during the month of January. Great job...we are proud of you!

Students in Mrs. Cason’s first grade class put their place value skills to the test by making their very own place value monsters! They chose any 2-digit number to represent with the monsters hair as the tens and teeth as the ones! #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily

2nd graders enjoyed their field trip to the GSU Planetarium to learn more about the attributes of the sun, moon & stars. They then enjoyed lunch and playtime at the Mill Creek Park. #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily

Have you heard? Our CMS Tigers are the number ONE seed and are heading to the final four of the basketball tournament this Friday!
Come cheer our C-team boys at HOME at 4:00 PM vs. Jenkins County!
Good luck to our CMS boys this Friday!

The students in Ms. Murphy and Mrs. Barrow’s kindergarten class have been learning about winter animals. Last week the focus was penguins. As a fun activity the students got creative and used food items to make a penguin. #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily

Zoom in. Yes, Aaron Harrison is playing blindfolded! He has just given an impressive percussion performance in the Performing Arts Competition at the State Beta Convention. Best wishes to Aaron!

The day the chairs QUIT!
Mrs. Shepherd's third grade students kicked off their opinion writing unit with a letter from their chairs saying why they quit. Students creatively found a new way to work without their chairs and wrote three reasons why their chairs should come back or not! #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily #creativityisfun

CMS students who had good BEHAVIOR, perfect ATTENDANCE, and NO MISSING ASSIGNMENTS for the month of December were treated to a glow party and pizza in the gym. CMS hopes that rewarding students for getting no ISS or office referrals, missing no days, and having no missing assignments will encourage all students to perform to these standards. We want all of our students to be successful. BAM will happen one day each month, so all students need to be at school each day, complete all assignments, and have good behavior to be able to attend.

Through Georgia Power's Learning Power Program, students learned about renewable and non-renewable resources, the sun as an energy source, energy transformation, conservation, and careers in energy. Students had the opportunity to experiment with solar panels and build a wind turbine to generate wind electricity for a home. #4Cs #ProjectBasedLearning

3rd graders have been learning about dramas in their ELA classes. They practiced a script in class, then performed it in front of a green screen. Mrs. Keyfauver helped students learn how to create an iMovie. We can’t wait to see the finished movie! #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily

The 7 Mindsets focus for this week is "Explore your interests."
What do you love to do and would do for free? Whatever your interests are, explore them further. Read a different genre, listen to a different type of music, play more of that sport!
