CMS Basketball will be hosting Academia Night on Thursday, November 17 at 4:00 pm. Academia Night honors any CMS student who posted all As at the end of the 1st nine weeks grading period. Students are admitted free with a RSVP.
Don't forget! CHS Make Up Pictures for Underclassmen who missed the initial Picture Day need to plan to have their pictures taken on Tuesday, November 15.
CMS STEM students enjoyed learning about structures: tension and compression forces and the different types of bridges that we use everyday. Students also built a bridge or designed a Google presentation on a type of bridge. They presented their final products to the class and communicated to their classmates the features of their bridge. #cmstigers #projectbasedlearning #4Cs

CMS students who received an invitation for Academia Night will be admitted free to the CMS basketball game on Thursday, November 17th, in the CMS gym, at 5:00. Students will need to let Coach Toothman or Coach Lanier know if they will be here, and their name will be added to a list to allow them in free. Students who received an invitation will be recognized during halftime of the boys' game.

CHS teacher and coach, Mrs. Hana Oglesby-Hendrix, served as the featured speaker for CHS’s Veterans Day Program this morning. She delivered an inspiring message about the journey military families experience, the courage it takes to face challenges, and how military families, especially the kids in military families, are like dandelions and are committed to thriving wherever they land.

What Mrs. Oglesby-Hendrix didn’t know, is that Dr. Mizell and CHS had arranged for a special homecoming reunion at the end of her speech!

Students learned about light and how shadows form. In pairs, they explored the classroom with a flashlight to determine if a shadow was created, by blocking the light, or not, due to transparency. The class discussed their findings and collaborated to make a chart displaying their findings. #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily
Students in Mrs. Myers’s 6th grade science classes enjoyed a planetarium experience. They enjoyed viewing Destination Solar System provided by Operation Teach. This technology brings the field trip to the students and gives them a chance to see the solar system in a fun and engaging way. #cmstigers

Mrs. Phillips and her 2nd-grade students read and studied a mentor text called, 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙣 𝙊𝙡𝙙 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙎𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙙 𝙖 𝘽𝙖𝙩! After reading the story, these creative young authors used rhyme and rhythm to imitate the mentor text they'd studied and to create their own stories!
