Students in Mrs. Myers' 6th grade Science class are learning about how minerals form, minerals' properties, and rock-forming minerals. Students participated in an experiment to observe how dissolved minerals in water can undergo crystallization or solidify in an orderly arrangement of atoms when the water evaporates. Using what they have learned about the properties of minerals, students are performing the role of a Geologist to examine minerals.

Erin Youmans from GYSTC, came to co-teach lessons in Mrs. Nobles' class. The students LOVED the activities she brought with her. The activities were STEM-based with standards embedded. They built a vehicle that moved with magnetic force (2nd & 3rd Grade) and created a light-activated backpack alarm (4th grade).
