Over fall break, our CHS Lady Tigers entered the 2024 state softball tournament as the #4 seed. After a tough loss to Wheeler County in Game 1, they roared back to win Game 2, 12-9. 🎭💙 October is National Bullying Awareness Month! 💙🎭 Our 2nd grade students had a special treat—a puppet show all about bullying! They loved interacting with the puppets and sharing what they learned. A huge thank you to Lorie Summers from Mental Health America of Georgia for using her amazing educational puppetry program to help promote wellness for our children. The Claxton High School FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) club traveled to Perry, Georgia on October 10 to attend the 2024 Fall Motivational Rally. Georgia’s annual Fall Motivational Rally was a way to kick start enthusiasm for an action-packed FBLA season. Students attended a motivational general session with other FBLA clubs from around the state of Georgia, competed in open events testing, and enjoyed the Georgia National Fair. 🎉 On 10/9/2024, CHS students attended GVRA Day at the GA National Fair in Perry, GA! 🎡🌟 The day kicked off with a scavenger hunt to collect stamps for a GVRA passport from various stations scattered throughout the fair. After collecting all the stamps, students got the chance to explore the fair and enjoy some delicious food using funds provided by GVRA. 🍔🎠 Next up was a rally featuring speakers from Fort Valley State University and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The highlight of the day? Unlimited rides using a wristband provided by GVRA! 🎢🙌 It was an amazing and fun-filled experience for our students. CHS Students in need of service hours, here are two opportunities! #1 Teen Maze needs childcare assistance during the community performance on Tuesday, October 22! On September 24, 2024, Claxton High School kicked off the school year with our first High School High Tech (HSHT) industry tours with a stop at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. Our Tigers learned about the many amazing job/career opportunities available with the airport and individual airlines. Many of the jobs do not require a college degree and have great perks, such as free flights for employees and their immediate family members, flying internationally to other countries for $40, and help with paying tuition to continue education, just to name a few. The students enjoyed the trip and now have a high interest in seeking a job at the airport. #RealLife #HSHT #TigerPride
