Please help ECCSS recognize and celebrate Ashley Cerro Montoya, an 11th-grade student at CHS, and Dasha Gonzalez, an 8th grader at CMS! Ashley and Dasha were selected to participate in the Migrant Education Program (MEP) at the University of Georgia this summer. The one-week residential program is designed to expose rising 9th-12th grade participants to campus life at UGA through activities and classes with UGA faculty and staff. The program emphasizes the importance of students earning a high school diploma and exploring post-secondary opportunities. The program is also designed to help current eligible migrant education students improve their reading, writing, and language skills, so that they may be better prepared to fulfill the requirements for high school graduation in Georgia. In addition to academic instruction, students will participate in other enrichment and campus activities, including arts, leadership, community service projects, field trips, and more! LaKeisha Welch's Certified Nurse Aide students are completing volunteer hours at one of three medical facilities: Evans Memorial Hospital, North Spring Assisted Living, or Southern Family Medicine. 🌱 Spring Planting Season in Full Bloom at CES! 🌼 Spring has sprung, and it's the perfect time for planting! Mrs. Kelly's class is diving deep into the life cycle of plants in their Science lessons. 🌿 Recently, they embarked on a hands-on class project by planting pinto beans. Over the coming days, the students will journal their observations, eagerly awaiting the first sprouts. 📓👀 This practical approach not only teaches them about plant growth but also cultivates patience and excitement as they watch nature unfold right before their eyes! 🌱🔍 #ReadySetGrow

Over Spring Break, the CHS baseball team, coaches, and fans traveled to Jacksonville, FL for a two-day, three game tournament. The schedule also allowed for a short trip to Jacksonville Beach. #BeachesAndBaseball #TigerPride #BlackAndGold

CHS Baseball will play in the 1st round of playoffs today- Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 5PM, in a double header at Bleckley County High School. Cost is $10. Game 3, if necessary, will be Wednesday, April 24 at 5PM. #BlackAndGold #TigerPride

Coach Lanier’s class is learning the rights protected by the First Amendment. They are reading scenarios on speech, both in public and on social media, and determining if the person is protected by the First Amendment. 🌞 April's Sunshine Basket Winner: Miss Savannah Ivey! 🎉 Congratulations to Miss Savannah Ivey, our outstanding 2nd grade teacher and this month's recipient of the April Sunshine Basket! 🌼 The basket was joyfully presented by Mrs. Kelly's 2nd graders, who thanked Miss Ivey not only for teaching them math but for "all the other amazing things she does". Miss Ivey is known for her dedication, greeting every student with a smile as they pass her classroom each morning. 🚪😊 Teaching is clearly her passion, and her commitment to making school enjoyable for her students shines through every day. She truly has a heart for all her students at CES. The Evans County Afro American Society cordially invites all Class of 2024 members to participate in the annual baccalaureate ceremony. This year’s ceremony will be on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10AM at Hagan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
