Our PreK students wanted to spread some love to the community by making Valentine’s cards to hand out to all four nursing homes in Claxton. Students created the cards and teachers delivered them to the residents. The DEN proudly hosted the Bryan-Evans Retired Teachers Association today! Twenty-five retired educators gathered to hear updates regarding their profession, to encourage young people and fellow educators, and to fellowship. This semester's program was provided by The DEN's Teaching As a Profession instructor, Layne Peacock, and two of her students Hannah Hendrix and Trinity Levant. The Culinary Arts team under the direction of Cindy Hart provided a special meal of mushroom smothered chicken, garlic whipped potatoes, green beans, squash casserole, and apple walnut salad dressed with pear gorgonzola. Mini iced red velvet cakes served as the final course and helped celebrate the day's theme of love. #TheDEN
