CMS is gearing up for Read Across America with a book fair! The book fair will begin Monday, March 3rd, and will run through 5th period on Friday, March 7th. Students will visit with their ELA classes on Monday or Tuesday (see attachment for schedule), and they will be allowed to visit on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with ELA teacher permission and money to spend. 📚🍦 Our third graders brought ELAGSERI3 to life by sequencing steps to make ice cream in a bag! This standard focuses on explaining events, procedures, and concepts in a text—including what happened and why.
Through this fun and engaging activity, students practiced:
✅ Reading and following multi-step directions
✅ Identifying key transition words
✅ Understanding cause-and-effect relationships
The best part? Their hard work ended with a sweet and tasty reward! 🍨👏 #HandsOnLearning #ReadingInAction #SweetSuccess #ReadySetGrow

Coach CJ Lanier's students are learning about the different departments of government! Students are going to use the reverse classroom method to help their peers learn and be more engaged in the lesson. Not only does this reinforce deeper learning of the content, but it emphasizes real life skills such as organizing, collaboration, creativity, and accountability. In addition to pictures of the students working on their assignment, you can also see some of the slides provided to students to help guide their work. #GovernmentIsRealLife #HowTheGovernmentWorks
