Important Requirements:

Age: Must be at least 16 years old to donate.

Consent: 16-year-olds must have a signed parental consent form (available from Mrs. Welch).

Identification: A photo ID is required at the time of donation.

Breakfast is available FREE to ALL students, everyday. Students at all schools are offered breakfast as they enter the school building each morning. Encourage your child to pick up at breakfast each morning so they get the fuel they need to start their day off right!

After attending FETC in Orlando last week, Coach Lanier jumped right into using iCivics activities like Investigating the Declaration to help students better understand Enlightenment ideas and how they shaped American government. Through the game, students analyze real excerpts from the Declaration of Independence and connect them to key concepts such as natural rights, social contract, popular sovereignty, and consent of the governed. Instead of memorizing definitions, students must explain why an idea fits, encouraging deeper thinking and stronger reasoning. The interactive format has been especially helpful for students who struggle with traditional texts, and the immediate feedback allows them to catch mistakes and adjust their thinking in real time. After completing the activity, students were noticeably more engaged and confident during discussions. This approach successfully bridged Enlightenment theory to the foundations of American government in a way students could truly understand and apply.

Our students and staff had so much fun dressing like they were 100 years old and rocking their creative 100-themed shirts. From gray hair and glasses to bright shirts covered in 100s, the day was full of smiles, laughter, and learning. We’re officially 100 days smarter! 💯📚

Teachers CJ Lanier, Jana Tanner, and Phillip Sapp, along with Instructional Technology Coordinator Samantha Keyfauver spent time learning from national leaders, exploring innovative instructional technology, and networking with educators from surrounding counties and across the United States. Their time at FETC wasn’t just about attending sessions. It was about bringing fresh ideas, proven strategies, and new connections back to our district. Throughout the year, they will share what they learned with colleagues and lead Tech Day sessions, where teachers can sign up to learn practical, classroom-ready ways to integrate technology and enhance student learning. This kind of professional learning ensures that Evans County Schools continues to grow, innovate, and empower educators to transform teaching for all students. 🚀📚💡

🎓💼 Learning Beyond the Classroom 💼🎓

CMS 7th grade students recently visited Georgia Southern University in Savannah to participate in JA Finance Park. During the visit, students engaged in hands-on activities that helped them learn about budgeting, saving, and making smart financial decisions.

The trip also gave students the opportunity to experience a college campus and explore future educational pathways. It was a great day of learning, exploration, and real-world connections!

Shoutout to Mr. Hendrix and all the Ag Mechanics students in Mr. Turner's class! They recently wrapped up Fall Semester by sharing what they learned through their Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) projects.
