We're thrilled to announce an incredible partnership between our dedicated Claxton High School teachers and the brilliant minds at Georgia Southern, all made possible by the generous $20,000 STEM/STEAM Professional Learning Grant CHS received!
Claxton High School teachers Bradley Hall, DeeDee Gordon, Amy Holland, Riviera Selph, Meagan Hedden, Angela Beecher, and Jenna Watkins, along with ECCSS Instructional Technology Coordinator Samantha Keyfauver are participating in professional learning by Dr. Shelli Casler-Failing (Associate Professor of Middle Grades and Secondary Mathematics Education and Program Director), Dr. Kania Greer (Coordinator of the Center for STEM Education and College of Education), and Molly McKeon (Graduate Student and Ogeechee Riverkeeper Fellow). They are embarking on a journey to explore and learn more about our local environment through water quality testing. 💧🌿 This cross curricular team hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the health of our aquatic ecosystems and to create a STEM unit for our amazing students. 🚣♀️🌊🌎
This project serves as a testament to the power of teamwork, underscores the importance of experiential learning, and highlights the incredible opportunities that grants like these provide. 🙌🔍 Stay tuned for updates as they embark on this exciting adventure together! 🌟💡
