Our 7 Mindsets focus this week is "Make a Difference." The quickest and easiest way to feel better and become happier is to help someone. You can start today by making a difference in every little way you can. Hold the door open for someone, pick up a piece of trash you see in the hallway, give your friend a compliment… the possibilities are endless!

Congratulations to Olivia Mejia! Early this morning, we learned that she had made the Top Ten cut in this year's State Culinary Arts STAR Event, and later during the awards ceremony, she was awarded second place. Her silver medal recognition qualifies her for competition at Nationals in Denver, Colorado, this summer. CHS and The DEN are proud of both of this year's Culinary Arts competitors, Olivia and Dale!

Mrs. Sowell and Ms. Peterson's classes enjoyed a great outing today to Hagan City Park. Students had the opportunity to work on motor skills and social development outside the classroom. A great time was had by everyone. Mrs. Wilkes, OT Assistant, and Mrs. Morris, Speech Therapist, also worked with students on individual skills. #CES

Coach Lanier's World History/World Lit class spent the last few weeks covering Totalitarianism & the Rise of Dictators between WWI & WWII. The students wrote an argumentative essay over which dictator(Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Hirihito) they believe to be the most ruthless. As students put together the final pieces of their paper, they provided peer evaluation, giving constructive feedback. This communication and collaboration led to awesome final versions of their essays.
