Our Pre-K students are at it again! They participated in Georgia Team Day yesterday for Georgia Pre-K Week, AND they enjoyed a special visit from ANOTHER guest reader, Georgia Representative Bill Werkheiser!
Representative Werkheiser read Malcolm Mitchell's book titled "Hey, Georgia" to our Pre-K students. The author, Mr. Mitchell, is a former wide receiver for one beloved Georgia team (Go Dawgs!) and a Super Bowl champion member of the New England Patriots!
Following the read-aloud, Representative Werkheiser stayed for a photo-op with our classes.
Thanks to Representative Werkheiser for spending this time with our youngest Tiger readers and writers today!

On Friday, November 4th, 2022, the last regular season Claxton High School (CHS) football game in the historic Bell Memorial Field, also known as the Pecan Grove, will be played. We want to make this last football game in the Pecan Grove a special event for Tigers present and Tigers past, so please make plans to join us and participate in this special occasion for our school and our community!
Starting at 6:45, our 2022 senior football players, cheerleaders, and band members will be recognized in a pre-game Senior Night Ceremony.
During halftime, we will celebrate all the football players, cheerleaders, band members, and coaches who have competed on this field since its opening in the 1940s and until present. As part of our celebration, we will have special Tiger and Pecan Grove memorabilia for all ceremony participants, and we will have commemorative t-shirts for sale.
We will share more specific details leading up to the event. Our goal is to make this a memorable and special occasion for everyone as our football team says goodbye to the Grove! We hope to see you and all of the Tiger Nation in the stands on November 4th.

CHS Underclass pictures and senior portrait make up pictures will be taken on Thursday, October 20. More information is coming soon.

ECCSS will celebrate Red Ribbon Week (RRW) the week of October 24-28.
The attached flyer lists the dress-up days for all ECCSS schools. We encourage all students and staff to participate in these days to show their commitment to living life drug-free!
Our CES students were also invited to participate in a coloring contest for RRW, and this is a reminder that their coloring sheets should be turned in to their homeroom teachers tomorrow! We can't wait to see all the creative ways that our young Tigers show their commitment to being drug free!

Our Pre-K students participated in Red, White, and Blue day today for Georgia Pre-K Week, AND they enjoyed a special visit from Claxton's own, Payton Biggers, a thirteen-year-old published author!
Payton read her book titled "Autism Gives Me Superpowers" to our Pre-K students, participated in a Q and A session, stayed for a photo-op with our classes, and donated a signed copy of her book to our CES Media Center!
Thanks to Payton and her mom, Michelle Biggers, for spending this time with our youngest Tiger readers and writers today!

Please pay special attention to the shirts that our CHS FBLA students are wearing in the pic below! The design was created by our very own Aashi Patel, and these were entered into the t-shirt contest!

October is National Principals Month!
As John Quincy Adams is credited with stating, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader." Our school principals are definitely LEADERS, and they work hard to inspire greatness in students, staff, and Evans County!
Please help ECCSS celebrate our principals! We are grateful to our principals and for all they do to make ECCSS a great place to learn, work, and grow!
