CMS students in Mrs. Francis's Spanish classes are learning about Day of the Dead which is celebrated in various Hispanic countries on November 1st and 2nd. In Mexico, altars are made to remember and celebrate the life of loved ones who have passed away. Spanish 2 students created tapetes which are traditionally placed near the altars and include iconic symbols for Day of the Dead. They're also found on the streets in major cities in Mexico. The street tapetes are typically made of colored sawdust. #cmstigers #4Cs #projectbasedlearning

ECCSS BOE Work Session Meeting
Thursday, November 3, 2022 6:00pm

CMS and CHS students are building a mindset of accountability with a focus on prioritization this week. Students viewed a video which used the representation of a jar and golf balls, pebbles, and sand. The idea is that if we put the golf balls or larger rocks (most important things in our life) in our jar of life first, we can add the less important things (pebbles) and then the fun things (sand). However, if we add the not so important things and fun things first, we can't fit the most important things in. They learned to prioritize and focus on the most important things in life first and then find room for the other things in life. By prioritizing, all three are possible for a more fulfilling life. #7mindsets
