CES sent a group of teachers and support staff to the Ron Clark Academy (RCA) Experience this week! This professional learning experience is designed to help participants learn skills and teaching strategies that can "ignite a passion for learning, provide meaningful support, encourage academic excellence, foster authentic relationships, and ensure a climate and culture where all students and staff thrive." All of these goals of the RCA Experience are connected deeply to CES's School Improvement Plan (SIP). Our CES attendees, Tasha Grantham, Jill Brown, Shannon Weekley, Jennifer Lewis, Taylor Miller, and Kandace Eason, are on FIRE with excitement and ready to share all they learned at RCA w/ our CES students and staff! #StaffEngagement #StudentEngagement #LifelongLearners #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily #CES

Humans in The Den “We came in early that morning. We prepared a lot of food. I was helping to make sure everything got out there properly. We made sure that we had enough for everybody. When the food was eaten, we replaced it. I was plating quiches on the serving tray. After everyone left, we cleared off the tables, and we took everything back to the Culinary Arts room.” Senior chef in training, Tybresha Williams, helped prepare food and serve the community at the Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony held in September. The following week, she assisted with the preparation of the reception food that was served at the Business After Hours hosted by the Board of Education. Because of her work schedule, she was unable to serve at this event, but as soon as she arrived at school the next day, she excitedly inquired about the reception. When teased about all of the dishes left behind, she responded with a smile, “That’s okay! I’ll wash them next period.” Tybresha Williams “leads with value”. She gives her time and shares her talents without expecting anything in return. The best part is that she does these things while displaying a beautiful attitude. *Interview as given to Holly Durrence and Candice Kirby #7Mindsets #WeAreConnected

Our Pre-K students are at it again! They participated in Georgia Team Day yesterday for Georgia Pre-K Week, AND they enjoyed a special visit from ANOTHER guest reader, Georgia Representative Bill Werkheiser! Representative Werkheiser read Malcolm Mitchell's book titled "Hey, Georgia" to our Pre-K students. The author, Mr. Mitchell, is a former wide receiver for one beloved Georgia team (Go Dawgs!) and a Super Bowl champion member of the New England Patriots! Following the read-aloud, Representative Werkheiser stayed for a photo-op with our classes. Thanks to Representative Werkheiser for spending this time with our youngest Tiger readers and writers today! #CommunityConnections #ReadersAreLeaders #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily #GAPreKWeek #CES
