ECCSS Regular Board Meeting
Monday, December 12, 2022 6:00pm

On Thursday, students in grades 2-5 who met their AR goals were rewarded with a pizza party. To qualify for the reward, students had to read a minimum number of books within their targeted Lexile range and make 80% or higher on the comprehension check. Each 4 1/2 weeks, students will be rewarded for meeting their AR goals! Way to go, CES readers! #WhatAreYouReading #GrowingReaders #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily

CMS sent a group of teachers and support staff to the Ron Clark Academy (RCA) Experience this week! This professional learning experience is designed to help participants learn skills and teaching strategies that can "ignite a passion for learning, provide meaningful support, encourage academic excellence, foster authentic relationships, and ensure a climate and culture where all students and staff thrive." All of these goals of the RCA Experience are connected deeply to CMS's School Improvement Plan (SIP).
Our CMS attendees, Stephanie Myers, Ellen Brown, Phillip Sapp, Katie Bowers, Üstün Bardak, and Maurice Burney, are on FIRE with excitement and ready to share all that they learned at RCA with our CMS students and staff!

Good luck to our CHS basketball teams as they travel to Portal this Saturday!
Please note the info Portal shared in the graphic below. Also, spectators now will enter through the main office entrance, and tickets are sold on GoFan. Portal will have signs all around the parking lots that indicate this.

Students have the option of a music game (Beat Saber), a fishing game, or the chance to design and ride their own rollercoaster.

On Monday, December 5th, CMS and CHS chorus students traveled to Savannah with chorus teacher, Mr. Burney, to sing a collection of Christmas songs at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. After they sang, they enjoyed lunch at Carey Hilliard's.

The Periodic Party was a success!! 8th grade Physical Science students communicated their learning about the periodic table and how elements can bond together to create something new. For the party, student teams demonstrated their learning and creativity by making a tasty dessert and writing an original recipe. Thank you to all guests who were able to come and hear from our amazing CMS students!
