Students in Mrs. Myers' 6th grade Science class are learning about how minerals form, minerals' properties, and rock-forming minerals. Students participated in an experiment to observe how dissolved minerals in water can undergo crystallization or solidify in an orderly arrangement of atoms when the water evaporates. Using what they have learned about the properties of minerals, students are performing the role of a Geologist to examine minerals.

Emily Stephens, a 6th-grade student at CMS, is applying the skills and knowledge she has learned through the 7 Mindsets program to implement a service project. Recently, students learned the Live to Give Mindset. Through the Live to Give Mindset, students learned that abundance in one’s life is a cycle, and to get love, respect, and financial security; we must learn to give those things. This Mindset also taught students that the greatest gift we can ever give is finding and leveraging our unique genius to maximize our positive impact on the world, knowing that good things will be returned to us in kind. Emily is leading by example by speaking with students about our ability to show support for children in Ukraine. Students are making bracelets in Mrs. Myers' class that will be sent to the citizens of Ukraine to offer support on behalf of the United States and Claxton Middle School.
