Mario Garcia, Lane Lujan, and Colton Emanuel have been invited to participate in the District Honor Band this February (exact dates coming soon)! 🥳👏 They'll be performing alongside the best 9th and 10th-grade students in our region of Georgia. 🌟🎼
Special shoutout to Mario, who scored an impressive 91/100 and will advance to the 2nd round in January! 🙌✨ He’ll have the chance to audition for the All-State Clinic in April, where he'll perform with the best musicians in the state. 🎉🎻

Our 3rd graders at Claxton Elementary got hands-on with science by building their very own solar ovens using pizza boxes! 🌞📦 They learned how the sun’s energy can be harnessed to cook food and tested their creations in this fun, interactive STEM activity.

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Ms. Teri McElveen’s passing on Thursday evening.
Ms. McElveen served as an educator in our area for over 17 years, and she devoted six years to our Tigers in Evans County. Ms. McElveen worked at CHS, and she is loved and respected by students and staff across our school district.
Ms. McElveen’s services will be on Monday, December 30. The arrangements are linked below.

🎉 Congratulations, Lizzie Sapp! 🎉 Claxton Middle School's very own Lizzie Sapp has reached an extraordinary milestone in her softball journey! 🥎 The talented eighth-grader has been selected to represent Georgia in the USSSA National All State Tournament, which took place in Cocoa Beach, Florida, this week, December 28-31, 2024. Lizzie is 1 of only 15 girls chosen from Georgia for this prestigious event—an impressive feat considering her 14U division features a highly competitive pool of 324 athletes! A standout pitcher and utility player, Lizzie has developed her skills over three seasons with Claxton Middle School and multiple seasons of travel ball with Bulloch Elite. The tournament united top players from across the country, with Lizzie teaming up with athletes from New York, Ohio, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Illinois.
