On Thursday, October 23, 2025, Mrs. Tanner and Ms. Mincey chaperoned 20 8th grade students from Claxton Middle School on an exciting trip to Georgia Southern University’s Savannah campus for the RISE Experience.
The event provided students with hands-on opportunities to explore career pathways in manufacturing, logistics, and assembly, helping them connect what they’re learning in the classroom to real-world industries and future career possibilities.
Students were selected for this trip based on data from their YouScience platform, highlighting their strengths, interests, and potential career matches.
👏 We’re proud of our students for taking this step toward discovering their futures!

💗 Thank you, Mrs. Ashleigh Geurin! 💗
We were so thankful to have Mrs. Ashleigh Geurin from the Evans County UGA Extension Office join us on our teacher workday to educate Claxton Elementary staff about breast cancer awareness. She even brought along some fun photo booth props and giveaways to make the session extra special! 🎀
We always enjoy her visits and appreciate the important information and positivity she brings each time. 💕

Talk about maximizing learning time! Even during restroom breaks, students in Ms. Beecher’s 8th Grade Georgia History class stay engaged and focused. 🙌
In these pictures, students are working on maps, continuing the lesson right where they left off when it was break time.
👏 One of the best parts? Students are cheering each other on when classmates answer the “ticket in the door” questions correctly — supporting one another and building a positive classroom culture!
Way to go, Ms. Beecher and students! Keep showing what Gold & Black excellence looks like! 🖤💛
