Miss CHS Mollie Lane participated in Read Across America at CES on Thursday.

CMS 7th grade had the opportunity to use their 21st century skills today as they participated in an economic simulation on personal finance. Each student had to manage a monthly budget that was individually tailored based on how they answered six finance questions. Mrs. Betty Smith did an excellent job preparing her students for this real world experience through career discovery!

Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day
ECCSS appreciates the hard work that each of you puts forth every day! We hope that you enjoyed your lunch today.

Read Across America
Wild About Reading
Thank you to the new Miss CHS, Mollie Lane, for coming to read to our students in the media center. While visiting, she also made a suprise pop-in visit to her little sister's classroom. It's not everyday you get a book read to you by a Queen!

Ms. Martinez's class enjoyed student athletes from the CHS Soccer Team coming to share a book . It was great for our younger students to see the example of academics and athletics demonstrated by these students. THANK YOU!

Our CHS Soccer team members enjoyed their visit to CES for Read Across America.

Read Across America Week
Huge "THANK YOU" to Kristy Mock, Evans County Family Connections, for her committment to sharing her love for students, learning and especially reading. She not only helped recruit readers for Read Across America week but she also came to CES 3 days and read multiple times each day to ensure each and every class had a guest reader. Thank you doesn't seem like nearly enough but your time and efforts are greatly appreciate by CES and especially Mrs. Price!

Read Across America - Wild About Reading
Thank you to Pastor Mike Lyons and Deputy Michael Keyfauver for taking their time to share a book with our students. It's so nice to see our community members investing in our students by sharing their love of books and encouraging them to keep reading.

Read Across America week - Seuss Hat Day. Wear a Seuss hat or your favorite hat.

Mrs. Thompson's second graders had a special guest reader, Mrs. Ansley Rogers, who was one of Mrs. Thompson's previous instructors from GSU.

Read Across America Day 4
Wild About Reading

Read Across America Week
CHS student and part-time media center worker, Joshua McKever, stepped up as a last-minute reader for two of our classes. One class found out he has many talents, one of which is singing. He sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and the students LOVE it! They then started requesting songs. One first grader requested "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer" and another requested a "country song". He obliged them both by singing the request Christmas song as well as the first verse of Blake Sheldon's "God's Country". Needless to say the room was full of excitement, amazement, and smiles! Thanks Joshua for coming to the rescue!

Miss Evans County CARES, Tanslei Lupton, read "Hannah Sparkles" to a third grade class for Read Across America week. Teenagers taking the time to come and read to younger students is both encouraging and inspiring for our students. Thank you Tanslei for sharing your time with us.

Read Across America week
Supreme Miss CES, Harper West, practiced all week to be a "special" reader for Read Across America. Big sister, Tanslei was on the schedule to read and Harper wanted to be also. She took this opportunity to inspired a Pre-K class to keep learning and so they too would be readers soon. She did an amazing job reading and had mastered the skill of reading while holding the book for the audience to see. (which is no easy task)
