Students in Ms. Adams' 6th Grade Career Awareness class learned about the importance of critical thinking in the classroom and in the workplace. Students worked in teams to create the longest chain using paper and masking tape. During the activity, students encountered problems, solved problems, figured out procedures to work together, and learned how this activity relates to problems they may encounter in school and in the workplace.
You’ve heard the saying, “Together we are better!” Well, it’s true! The Den looks forward to a partnership with Northspring Assisted Living, The Griffin House, and The Journey. Planned activities, work opportunities, and service projects will provide students valuable pathway experience and employability skills practice. While working on informational writing, 2nd graders in Mrs. Jenkins's class are using the Book Creator tool to create nonfiction digital books.
CAPS is EXPANDING to serve 10,000 additional children. To help make more families eligible, CAPS income limits are increasing effective Monday, November 1, 2021.
On Tuesday the CMS boys tennis team lost to Screven County in the league playoffs, but were represented well all season by Agustin Saucedo, Luke Dover, Ramsey Hendrix, Jonathan Figueroa, Cadence McDonald, Yamil Hernandez-Campos, and Joseph Tanner.
On Wednesday the CMS girls tennis team beat Metter 3-2 to advance to the league Final 4. Our lady tigers were led by Jayda Jordan (8-0), Annabelle Hurt (8-3), and Briley Haire (8-0). Today our CMS girls will travel to Metter to take on Screven County @ 5 pm.

favorite season using Book Creator. They have learned how to
record themselves speaking, draw illustrations, and import pictures with this new technology. They are super exciting!

The Evans County Charter School System was notified at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 by Claxton Police Department that an inmate escaped while being treated at Evans Memorial Hospital. All school district facilities immediately went into a lock-down mode as a precautionary measure. At approximately 12:40 p.m. the district was notified that the inmate was under pursuit but it was confirmed he had left Evans County. The lock-down was lifted. All students and employees are safe.
