📚✨ Kindergarteners Enjoy Special Storytime at the Public Library! ✨📚
Mrs. Emily Cere’s kindergarten class had a wonderful time at the Evans County Public Library, where Rotary’s District Governor, Todd Freeseman, from Savannah, read "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bell" to the students. 🎄📖
After the reading, former Superintendent Joy Collins gave the students pencils and mini Etch-A-Sketch-like toys, and Librarian Sabrina Wright led them on a tour of the library. ✏️🎁📚
Thank you to everyone who made this such a memorable experience for our students! 🌟👏 #LiteracyMatters #CommunitySupport #ClaxtonElementary #ReadySetGrow

Dr. Kristy Vandenberg, Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services, shared College and Career Readiness Index (CCRPI) data, following GADOE’s release of this information on December 6. This CCRPI data includes students’ performance on the 2024 state assessments as well as other indicators, including schools’ progress with achievement for all students, course offerings beyond the core subject areas, literacy, and English language proficiency. ECCSS scores increased in 14 out of 17 indicators, and in multiple components, ECCSS schools’ improvement increase from one year to the next is higher than the average state improvement increase.

🏹🔬 Learning in Action: Archery Meets STEM 🔬🏹
Mr. Sapp’s STEM students at CMS had an exciting, hands-on learning experience with Archery Tag! 🎯 Special thanks to the amazing student employees from Georgia Southern University’s Shooting Sports Education Center for joining us and making this activity both fun and educational! 🙌🎓
Through this activity, students explored the concepts of potential and kinetic energy in a real-world setting. 🌟 They discovered:
➡️ The bowstring holds potential energy when pulled back.
➡️ When released, that energy transforms into kinetic energy as the arrow is launched! 🚀
This dynamic blend of science and sport brought classroom concepts to life, leaving students with an unforgettable learning experience. 🔥💡

📊🌟 Focused on Growth: CMS Teachers and Students Set Goals for Winter MAP Testing 🌟📊
At CMS, our teachers are committed to helping students succeed! Currently, teachers are meeting with students to review their fall MAP scores and set personalized goals for the upcoming winter testing session (December 17th and 18th). 💬📈
The MAP test is administered three times a year—fall, winter, and spring—to track each student’s growth throughout the school year. These one-on-one conferences empower students to reflect on their progress and aim for new milestones. 🚀
🌟 Our goal? To see every student show growth and achieve their personal best! 💪📚
We’re so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication. Let’s make this winter testing session a time to shine! ✨
