Tonight these firefighting recruits attended the First Responder Appreciation Dinner hosted by the Claxton-Evans Chamber of Commerce and other supporters. We are thankful for our service personnel and the support they have shown our recruits.

The 2021-2022 Yearbook Staff is requesting that CHS alumni and former CHS faculty/staff consider sharing some favorite memories of their time at Claxton High School. We are hoping to include some of these memories in the 2021-2022 yearbook. Please answer the questions below, and submit a recent photo of yourself that we could possibly include in the yearbook. The city of Claxton will be installing speed bumps at the crosswalks on Hendrix Street and Tiger Town Road during the week of November 8, 2021. These are meant to provide safety for students and community members. We ask that everyone slow down when entering and exiting the school zone.


Ms. Thigpen's class enjoyed Scarecrow Day and picking a pumpkin from their pumpkin patch.





The Claxton Tiger Marching Band earned straight Excellent ratings at the Sound of Gold Marching Contest in Waycross on Saturday. The Band was scored on Marching, Music, and Overall Effect. The Percussion was scored for on-the-field execution and off-field accompaniment. The Colorguard was scored for overall effect and execution. Drum Major Nellson DeLoach earned a Superior rating for his conducting. This marks the 11th consecutive year the Claxton Band has earned either Excellent or Superior ratings at each of their competitions. Congratulations to all the students!
The Band will compete next at the Statesboro Contest on Saturday, October 30th at 12:20pm at Statesboro High School.


CHS Drama won 2nd place in the Region One Act Play competition on Saturday, October 23. Ella Wilkie won the Best Actress Award, and Taraja Andrews was named to the All Region Cast. CHS Drama is under the direction of Cydney Jackson.
