🎄🌍 Christmas Around the World at CMS! 🌍🎄
Last week, Ms. Hoffman, Ms. Benton, and Ms. Christman’s classes embarked on a festive journey around the globe in social studies! 🗺️✨ Students explored how Christmas is celebrated in different cultures and learned about the unique traditions that make each celebration special.
✨ Monday: They "traveled" to Mexico and discovered the story behind poinsettias and Las Posadas. The day ended with a delicious treat: Walking Tacos! 🌮
✨ Tuesday: In Germany, they learned about the origins of Christmas Trees 🎄 and their importance in holiday traditions.
✨ Wednesday: Sweden brought the magic of St. Lucia Day, with its beautiful candlelit processions. 🕯️
✨ Thursday: A sunny twist! In Australia, they explored what Christmas looks like during summer – think BBQs and beach vibes! 🌊🎅
✨ Friday: The final stop was Italy, where students sampled traditional Panettone and warmed up with hot chocolate. ☕🍞
From wintery traditions to summery celebrations, it was a week full of discovery, learning, and fun! 🎅

In Coach Lanier’s US History class, students are diving into the Civil War!✨
They covered William T. Sherman and his dramatic “March to the Sea” following the Battle of Atlanta. Now, our young historians are getting creative—each student will write a letter or journal entry as if they were a civilian in 1864, sharing how Sherman’s campaign affected their life. 📝💭
