🗳️ Election Day for Pre-K! 🗳️ Ms. Amari and Ms. Nicky's class held their very own Presidential Election in the classroom! 🗽 Students discussed the importance of voting and learned about the rules of the voting process. They practiced each step, from check-in to casting their ballots 📝. After voting, each student proudly received an "I Voted" sticker! 🎉 What a wonderful hands-on way to learn about democracy! 🗳️ #ReadySetGrow

🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, Mateys! Celebrating Readers with "The Great Pirate Race"! 🏴‍☠️ On October 24th, Claxton Elementary hosted an exciting Accelerated Reader reward party with Sean Driscoll and The Story Ship! Around 200 2nd-5th grade students who met their reading goals enjoyed “The Great Pirate Race” – a high-energy, interactive show filled with music, storytelling, theater, games, puzzles, and a dash of magic! 🪄🎶 This event made learning and achievement fun, bringing a crazy, engaging game show that challenged skills in math, ELA, and more, while keeping everyone entertained! We couldn’t have asked for a better celebration for our amazing readers! 📚🥳 #ReadySetGrow

SENIORS....If you are thinking about applying to college...November is the time to apply!!! Georgia schools participate in a NO FEE NOVEMBER, so you do not have to worry about paying for the application fees. There are a select few that do not participate, but that is only a few. Please visit this website (see link below) for a list of post-secondary institutions providing Application Fee Waivers, a link straight to the application, and instructions to apply the fee waiver to the application. If you have questions, please contact the CHS School Counselor- Tina Durrence (tdurrence@evanscountyschools.org). https://www.gafutures.org/college-planning/apply-to-college-initiative/application-fee-waivers/ CHS will be providing assistance to seniors on Nov. 22 for those that need help applying to college. More details to come about this event. Dual Enrollment Students: If you plan to stay at the same college you are taking dual enrollment classes, you do NOT have to reapply to that college. They have a separate form for you to fill out to stay after you graduate.

Congratulations to our CHS boys and girls cross country teams! They ran in the Sectional/Regional meet at Wilcox County in Rochelle on Saturday, November 2. Junior Alan Baxcajay finished 6th overall in the boys race. Both teams will continue on to the state meet that will be held in Carrollton on Saturday, November 9. The boys team finished 7th out of 15 teams, and the girls finished 6th out of nine teams. We are so proud of these young ladies and gentlemen. #TigerPride #XCRocks #KeepPushingToGreatness

🎉✨ Red Ribbon Week Success at Claxton Middle School! ✨🎉 Our Claxton Middle School family celebrated a fantastic Red Ribbon Week! 🥳 Students and teachers dressed up each day, showing off creativity and spirit, and spreading the message of making healthy, positive choices. 🌟💪 Thank you to everyone who participated and made it such a fun and meaningful week! 🙌❤️

🌾 Claxton Elementary Hosts 2nd Annual Ag Awareness Day! 🌾 On Friday, October 25, Claxton Elementary students, from kindergarten to fifth grade, gathered to celebrate the essential role of agriculture in our community! 🌱🚜 In partnership with Evans County 4-H Extension Office, CES hosted Ag Day, filled with over 20 vendors, educators, and Claxton High School volunteers who brought the world of farming, agribusiness, and rural life to life! 🎉 The field outside the CES gym transformed into a hands-on agri-learning space with booths, equipment, and exciting demonstrations. Students explored everything from tractor safety and conservation to farm animal care! CHS students from agriculture, culinary, and firefighting pathways joined in, helping younger students learn more about their passions and future career paths. 🍅👩‍🚒🐄 A big highlight? The grand finale fire safety demo! A fire helicopter dropped water on a blazing hay bale, with CHS firefighting students stepping in to extinguish the flames—an unforgettable experience for everyone. 🚁🔥 Thank you to everyone who made this event possible—our amazing community, 4-H partners, and all our CES and CHS students and staff! Work experience is valuable at any age, and perhaps even more so in high school, especially if career aspirations and the job align. This in-field experience allows students to confirm or correct their thinking regarding their future in the workforce while building a powerful resume. Mario Ramirez has given careful thought to his future. He is an Accelerated Career Diploma student enrolled in the electrical systems program at Ogeechee Technical College (OTC). In two years, Mario will receive diplomas from both Claxton High School and OTC. In the meantime, he will apprentice under an electrician at Claxton Poultry. Congratulations, Mario, on your recent signing! We can't wait to see this Tiger turn his tassels in May 2026! #TheDEN
