ECCSS was alerted to an alleged threat made on social media. The Claxton Police Department has investigated, and the threat doesn’t appear credible. While it appears this threat is one of a series of hoaxes currently circulating on social media, all threats made against our schools are taken very seriously and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. ECCSS will have extra officers on site this week; additional safety protocols will be implemented as needed. Thank you to our students and staff for reporting concerns. Also, we appreciate concerned parents and families who are supervising their kids' social media and notifying law enforcement and school administrators when anything is questionable, and we ask that you continue these practices. Parents and families, please share the seriousness of social media posts with your kids. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority. More info: https://tinyurl.com/5n88f7ye

🌋📚 Erupting with Excitement in Mrs. Hallman’s 2nd Grade Class! 📚🌋 To kick off the story "My Mouth is a Volcano," Mrs. Hallman’s 2nd grade class conducted a fun experiment to see what happens when vinegar meets baking soda! The story is about a young boy who can’t wait his turn to speak and "erupts," talking out of turn. Mrs. Hallman explained that the "eruption" made by the baking soda and vinegar is like your thoughts building up inside you that you want to share, but we can’t let our thoughts "erupt" when the teacher or other students are talking. This book is a fantastic way to introduce the importance of waiting our turn to speak and setting classroom expectations. The experiment was a great way to engage students and will hopefully remind them to hold onto their rising thoughts until it’s their turn to speak, so they don’t erupt! 🌟🗣️ #ReadySetGrow
