🎓👏 A Heartfelt Tradition at Claxton High...Seniors Walk the Halls One Last Time 👏🎓
Last Friday marked a bittersweet moment at Claxton as our high school seniors walked the halls of both Claxton High and Claxton Middle School for the last time as students. 🏫💼
Accompanied by cheers and applause from underclassmen and middle schoolers, our seniors took a nostalgic journey through the corridors where their journey began. It was a powerful reminder of how far they've come and the bright futures that lie ahead. 🌟✨
This cherished tradition not only celebrates our graduating class but also inspires younger students to dream big and work hard. 🙌🎉

Coach Lanier's class has been using the debate process to help them formulate argumentative essays. A recent topic students debated was whether schools should be able to discipline students for what they say on social media.
Opening arguments, where they introduced their argument and acknowledged their side, served as their claim.
Through the debate portion, each side argued their claim and justified their arguments. The opposing side listened and took notes.
Each team was given time to research their opposition's information provided during the debate so that counterclaims/rebuttals could be established.
During the closing arguments, teams put together a summary of the information that supported their argument.
They could then compile all the information from the debate into an argumentative essay. #PreworkIsVital #ResearchToWrite #BlackAndGold

One of the many options available to CMS and CHS students is the opportunity to enroll in classes at the Evans County Christian Learning Center. Located adjacent to campus, the CLC is directed by Dr. Lynn Gardner whose heart for young people is evident in all she does. Senior Joanna Brown worked closely with Dr. Gardner this year, and her position as teacher assistant was her Work-Based Learning job placement. The position aligned beautifully with Joanna’s future plans to attend Emmanuel University and major in education. Joanna also plans to minor in music ministry. Your future students will be fortunate to have you, Joanna. CHS is proud of you! #TigerPride #RealLife #TheDEN

If you have been following our page, you know that our local community offers tremendous support to our schools and that our CHS Work-Based students are employed in positions all over that same community. Pictured here is another example of that relationship in action. Seniors Nick Snellgrove (left) and Tyrone Atkinson (right) have enjoyed a job placement this year with the Evans County Recreation Department where they perform a variety of duties from groundskeeping to game preparation. It was not that many years ago that they were the little boys for whom they prepared this field! Little boys no more, they have plans for the future. After graduation Nick plans to attend college and obtain a business degree with the end goal of working in the Real Estate industry. Tyrone plans to attend college and obtain a degree in either Kinesiology or Engineering. He also plans to play college football. CHS is standing proudly behind you all the way, Nick and Tyrone! #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess #TigerPride #TheDEN
