🎆🍔As we enjoy this summer season and approach the 4th of July, Mrs. Cindy Hart, the CHS Culinary Arts teacher, is excited to share a delicious summer holiday recipe you and your family can enjoy together! 🌭🎇 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳Cooking at home is the perfect way to create lasting memories, try new flavors, and spend some quality time with the ones you love. ❤️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 ✨ Whether you're firing up the grill, whipping up a sweet treat, or experimenting with festive sides, we've got something special for everyone! Mrs. Hart is passionate about teaching students how to create delicious, fresh, and healthy meals — especially using seasonal ingredients. Summer is the perfect time to enjoy the bounty of fresh fruits like peaches, berries, and melons. These fruits are not only sweet and juicy but also packed with vitamins and antioxidants to keep you energized all season long! To celebrate summer’s flavors, Mrs. Hart is sharing one of her favorite recipes: a classic peach cobbler — warm, comforting, and easy to make! Mrs. Hart’s Peach Cobbler Recipe Ingredients: 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced 1 cup sugar, divided 1/2 cup butter, melted 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup milk 2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp cinnamon (optional) Instructions: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, toss peaches with 1/2 cup sugar and set aside. Pour melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish. In another bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, salt, and milk until smooth. Pour batter over the melted butter in the dish — do not stir. Spoon peaches evenly over the batter. Sprinkle cinnamon on top if you like. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbly. 7-Day Summer Meal Kits are being distributed today at Claxton Elementary School from 12:00 - 1:00 PM and 5:00 - 6:00 PM for children 18 and under. The meals are provided at no cost to parents by the Evans County School Nutrition Program. 🎉 Claxton High School Brings Home National Beta Awards! 🎉 We are proud to announce that Claxton High School has achieved national recognition at the Senior Beta Club competition! Our talented students competed with excellence and creativity, and their efforts have paid off with multiple top national placements. 🌟 🏆 National Award Winners: • Amy Allende-Muthe 🥇 6th Place – Cake Decorating (Division I) Her creativity and precision in cake artistry stood out on the national stage! • Joselin Baltazar-Venegas 🥈 2nd Place – Hand-drawn Anime (Division II) Her incredible talent and original design earned her a top-tier spot in a competitive field. • Savana Lair 🎖 4th Place – Onsite Drawing (Division II) With limited time and live pressure, Savana showcased artistic excellence and poise. In addition, Neissa Alisma placed 9th in French, but was unable to attend the conference. ⸻ We celebrate these students’ hard work, imagination, and dedication. Claxton Elementary (CES), Claxton Middle (CMS), and Claxton High (CHS) recently named Teachers of the Year (TOTY) at their annual end-of-year faculty luncheons. ECCSS would like to take a moment to shine the spotlight on each of our amazing TOTYs! When asked why he wanted to become a teacher and what legacy he’d like to leave with his students, Mr. Ustun Bardak, CES TOTY, replied, "I wanted to be a teacher because of my math teacher in primary school. Fun and learning always went together in his class. This happened on June 19, 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed to end slavery.
