CHS Baseball hosted their annual First Responders Night at Tiger Town. Members of the Claxton Police Dept., Claxton Fire Dept., Evans Co. Sheriff Office, Evans Co. Fire, Evans EMS, and GA State Patrol were represented. First Responder and Diamond Girl Karla McNeese threw the first pitch to Firefighter and Senior Will Parker. Both of these seniors are members of Claxton Fire Dept. CHS celebrated Hispanic Heritage, as well as the winners of the Hispanic Heritage Art and Writing Contest with a program on Monday, April 15 during Tiger Pride. CHS Chorus, under the direction of Mr. Maurice Burney, sang that classic hit La Bamba, Mr. Burney's dance class performed a line dance to the song No Rompas Mi Corazon (Achy Breaky Heart), and Mrs. Becky Francis shared the history and purpose of Hispanic Heritage Month. #DiversityMakesUs Great #CelebrateDiverseCultures #TigerPride #TheDEN

Susan Avant, a consultant from the Charter System Foundation, will join us to review charter requirement, benefits, and the Peach Education Tax Credit. A Hyundai representative will also be on site to talk about opportunities, plans, partnerships, and more. Shawn Utley, from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), will talk about TCSG opportunities and the Accelerated Career Diploma. There will also be a Q& A session.

These students are interviewing today for a summer internship with ACE Electric! They have expressed an interest in electrical systems and hope to explore this career under the mentorship of ACE Electric experts. Internships are commonplace at the college level and are growing in high schools as these opportunities help students confirm their interest and talent in identified career fields and build resumes for future opportunities. At The DEN, we work hard to ensure all students can put their stripe on the workforce within our local community and beyond. #TheDEN

Congratulations to CHS's own Cade Sikes (senior), Jonathan Brown (junior), and Christian Mixon (junior) on their recent recognition for their stellar performances during the Region 3A Division 1 baseball season.
