🎢🎢 Coach Transue’s Advanced Algebra students are taking math to new heights! 🎢🎢

They wrapped up their unit on quadratic equations with an exciting Summative Assessment Challenge — using parabolas to design and build marble roller coasters! 🎢💫

Students had to create and adjust their roller coasters to meet one of three challenges:
1️⃣ Successfully pass through a vertical loop
2️⃣ Successfully pass through a horizontal loop
3️⃣ Successfully make it over an incline

Hands-on learning meets creative problem solving — and these Tigers were up for the challenge! 💪🐯🖤💛

The Georgia REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) Scholarship is a needs-based program that begins in middle school and provides students with academic and social support. Upon successful completion of program requirements and high school graduation, each scholar earns a scholarship to use at participating colleges in Georgia. 🌟

📅 A contract signing ceremony will be held in November (date to be announced) to officially celebrate these scholars and their families.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, during the cool and windy halftime of the Tigers v. Savannah High football game, senior Rosacela Estrada Silva was crowned the 2025 CHS Homecoming Queen, and her sister, junior Samantha Estrada Silva, was crowned Homecoming Princess! 👸👑

The Queen and Princess are the proud daughters of Teresa Silva and Pedro Estrada. Rosacela was escorted by her father, Pedro, and Samantha was escorted by her mother, Teresa. 💐 Trinity Lavant, the 2024 Homecoming Queen and current Georgia Southern University student, assisted in crowning her successors. 💛💙

Our CHS FFA members had the privilege of attending the annual FFA Day at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA on Tuesday, October 7, 2025! 🎡🌾 Students connected with members from other FFA chapters across the state and listened to inspiring keynote speakers. 🎤✨

After the presentations, our Tigers enjoyed all the fun the fair had to offer — visiting animals 🐮🐷🐑, tasting delicious fair food 🍭🍔🍟, and riding the rides 🎠🎢🎯!

The National Junior Beta Club is an academic honor society for students in grades 4-8, focusing on achievement, character, leadership, and service. Junior Beta Club recognizes and celebrates high academic performance, while also fostering personal development, developing leadership, and serving the community. The Junior Beta motto is “Let us lead by serving others.”

During the ceremony, our new members will be formally recognized and presented with their membership certificates and pins. This is a special milestone for our students as they take on the responsibility of upholding the values of Junior Beta and committing themselves to leadership and service within both our school and community.

🚗 Note: There are parking changes in place specifically for Homecoming, so please review the maps carefully before arriving.

Let’s make sure everyone arrives safely and ready to celebrate our Claxton Tiger Homecoming 2025! 🖤💛

Hendrix St. Extension will be closed between Perkins Mill Road and Wisteria Lane starting tomorrow. This road closure is expected to remain in effect for approximately 2-3 weeks.

This road closure will also impact the parking area for the football stadium. At the end of tomorrow night's game, attendees will exit the parking lot at the gate closest to the high school.
