One of the many options available to CMS and CHS students is the opportunity to enroll in classes at the Evans County Christian Learning Center. Located adjacent to campus, the CLC is directed by Dr. Lynn Gardner whose heart for young people is evident in all she does. Senior Joanna Brown worked closely with Dr. Gardner this year, and her position as teacher assistant was her Work-Based Learning job placement. The position aligned beautifully with Joanna’s future plans to attend Emmanuel University and major in education. Joanna also plans to minor in music ministry. Your future students will be fortunate to have you, Joanna. CHS is proud of you! #TigerPride #RealLife #TheDEN

If you have been following our page, you know that our local community offers tremendous support to our schools and that our CHS Work-Based students are employed in positions all over that same community. Pictured here is another example of that relationship in action. Seniors Nick Snellgrove (left) and Tyrone Atkinson (right) have enjoyed a job placement this year with the Evans County Recreation Department where they perform a variety of duties from groundskeeping to game preparation. It was not that many years ago that they were the little boys for whom they prepared this field! Little boys no more, they have plans for the future. After graduation Nick plans to attend college and obtain a business degree with the end goal of working in the Real Estate industry. Tyrone plans to attend college and obtain a degree in either Kinesiology or Engineering. He also plans to play college football. CHS is standing proudly behind you all the way, Nick and Tyrone! #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess #TigerPride #TheDEN

🍽️ Mrs. Liberatore’s class has been busy creating their very own restaurant! They’ve just started testing out some exciting menu items, and one of the chefs, Jyra McKever, is showcasing her delectable Oreo Pie. 🍰🍫

This lovely CHS senior recently showed us her workspace at Kyle Durrence Chevrolet, Buick & GMC. Over this past year, Laney Massey has grown in her role at the dealership, and she has developed a professional bond with her team there. She says she realizes what an important role a “work family” can play in a person’s life, and she plans to remain in her position as she enters the next phase of her life. Laney will be among the first students to enroll in one of OTC’s newest programs- the Associate of Science in Nursing. We are confident that her studies in her health science pathway at CHS, combined with her experience in her Work-Based Learning placement at Kyle Durrence Chevrolet have prepared her to meet her future goals! We're so proud of you, Laney! #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess #TheDEN #TigerPride

🎓 Let's hear it for our Tigers!🦅
This past Saturday, a group of bright students from Claxton Middle School and Claxton High School soared high during the Migrant Education Program, College Experience Day at Georgia Southern University! 🏫✨
They dove into informative workshops, gained insights from inspiring guest speakers, and explored the sprawling campus. 🗣️🌳
A big shout-out to our students - Fredi, Rose, Lovedana, Dasha, Rayvelis, and Ramon - for representing our schools with Tiger pride and curiosity! 🌟

Have we mentioned how wonderful it is to be a part of the Claxton-Evans County community? For a small town, there are opportunities abundant for our students, and we appreciate every single one. Senior Kellyn Ramirez has made the most of her opportunity at Deloach, Odell & Associates! She has grown over the past year in her role within this office. After graduation, Kellyn plans to attend GSU and major in Accounting. She also plans to remain in her job with this office as she begins her college journey. We’re glad your Work-Based Learning experience can go with you into this new stage of life. We are proud of you, Kellyn! #TheDEN #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess #LifeSkills

All bus routes are complete at this time. Thank you to our students, bus drivers, families, schools, & other staff for being patient, flexible, & helpful today as we made & shared adjustments.
