🔬📚 Science teachers from grades 5, 8, and Biology recently participated in a training where they learned how to encourage students to actively engage in science and engineering practices. They also analyzed and developed three-dimensional science assessments for use in the classroom. Science teachers aim to ignite curiosity in students and keep them amazed by the world around them. #EmpoweringStudents 🌟 #GaDOE 🌟 #ScienceTraining

On February 6th, 2024, the CHS HSHT students visited the municipal wastewater treatment plant in Statesboro, GA. They learned about the chemical processes involved in cleaning wastewater before it is released back into the environment. While in a classroom setting, the plant's Maintenance Supervisor provided a digital overview of the everyday operations of the plant. Afterward, the tour guides explained each stage of the treatment process and described the contaminants removed along the way. Students were informed of the educational requirements to get hired as a wastewater treatment plant operator, the duties, the starting salary, as well as the classes and tests that are required to maintain employment and increase pay. This was another great opportunity provided by the High School High Tech program that allowed our students to experience post-secondary employment options. #TigersOnTheMove #RealLifePreparation

Students in Mrs. Nicoli's Social Studies classes have begun a study on Europe. They are currently talking about different physical features across the continent. In the activity pictured, students were placed into groups, and each group got to draw a country in Europe. Over the next couple of months, they will dive deep into learning about the country they drew. #4Cs #RoarANDSoar

We in Evans County are fortunate to have a wonderful local hospital, and we are especially grateful that they support our community in multiple ways. Did you know that EMH is another partner for our Work-Based Learning program at CHS? Pictured is senior Ava Adams, who is employed at EMH in the medical/surgical department. Ava has become an integral member of their team, and in addition to building relationships, she has gained invaluable experience in the medical field. After graduation, she plans to attend Georgia Southern University and major in exercise science with the ultimate goal of becoming an occupational therapist. CHS is proudly cheering you on, Ava! #TheDEN #WBLIsLifeExperience

In January, our administrative team became the recipients of Mrs. Jennifer Kelly's 2nd-grade class's Sunshine Award. Our administration's dedication and hard work at CES are truly appreciated. Their commitment forms the cornerstone of our school's success, and we wouldn't be able to accomplish what we do without their valuable contributions. 🌞🐯
