This HSHT-sponsored training emphasized responsible and safe online behavior for high school students, covering crucial aspects such as Digital Footprint & Identity, Privacy & Security, Cyberbullying and Online Harassment, and Responsible Content Consumption and Sharing. The trainers, Mrs. Stephanie Bell and Ronald Smith, reminded students that being responsible and safe online starts with making conscious choices. The training's purpose was to ensure that students can navigate the digital world confidently and protect their online and offline well-being. #TigerPride #RealLife

Do you ever wonder what CHS alumni are doing? Economic Development Authority Director, Adam Kennedy, and The DEN's CEO, Holly Durrence, met up with Carol Moore Adams, CHS Class of 1981, when she provided business and industry members a tour of her worksite. Adams serves as the Quality Assurance Manager at Cardinal Glass in Statesboro and has worked at the facility for 25 years. CHS and The DEN look forward to working with Adams to connect its graduates with job opportunities at Cardinal Glass.

Ms. Driggers' Tigers Learn About Winter in Tiger Time ❄️
Ms. Driggers’ class has been reading nonfiction articles about avalanches, snowshoes, and adapting to cold weather during their Tiger Time. To reward the students for their hard work learning about winter topics, they got to have some snowy fun and made their own "snow" to play with! These Tigers had a blast with their wintry creation.

Back in January, Mrs. Hallman's second grade Tiger time class was learning about nonfiction text features. Their culminating activity was to become text feature surgeons! 😷 Upon entering Mrs. Hallman's OR, students donned masks and gloves and excised examples of text features from magazines and newspapers to put in their operating room manuals. Graduations are approaching! You read that right--graduations. Many of our CHS Seniors will graduate from BOTH high school and Ogeechee Technical College in May. These students will earn their high school diploma at the same time that they earn certificates and diplomas in their areas of post-secondary study.
Pictured are Carson Blocker, CHS Senior, and Brandy Murphy, Assistant Director of Admissions at Ogeechee Technical College. Blocker attended last week's OTC Graduation Gala to prepare for his May graduation in HVAC. The future is bright for this Tiger!
Students interested in finishing post-secondary coursework prior to high school graduation should reach out to Holly or Tina Durrence--(912) 739-3993.

CES Celebrates Black History Month 🎤🕺🏾
CES students and staff came together on Friday for a special Black History Month program at the school. Students enjoyed listening to poetry readings and watching performances by their peers and special guests from CHS to honor iconic Black figures and reflect on the impact they've had on our country.
It was a meaningful way for our school community to celebrate Black stories and voices! Thank you to our students, staff, and others who made this great Black History Month celebration possible!

Our firefighting pathway offers many possibilities to its recruits. Students who finish all three courses will leave with Firefighting 1 and 2, CPR, and AED certifications. With these credentials, students can pursue a career as a firefighter with large communities, the military, or the Georgia Forestry Commission and/or serve their areas as volunteer firefighters. The starting salary for career firefighters is between $60,000 and $75,000 annually.
Thank you to the Evans County Commissioners and Brian Croft for investing in the lives of our young people!
