CMS BETA students Matthew Griffin, Citlaly Hernandez Ramirez, Bryson Stanfield, Brayden Tapley and Danika Mikell competed in the Engineering competition at the Georgia State BETA Convention. They successfully built a rollercoaster in 45 minutes. Their use of the 4 Cs led to a successful product at competition. Although they didn't place in the top five, we are super proud of them for their critical and creative thinking, communication and collaboration! #RoarANDSoar #Betafamous

CMS will be having its fall book fair next week, December 5-11. Students will visit on the following schedule: Tuesday-7th grade; Wednesday-8th grade; Thursday-6th grade. Students will also be allowed to visit on Friday (Dec. 8th) and Monday (Dec. 11th) with money and teacher permission.

Sometimes the student truly does become the teacher. That was certainly the case today when WBL Coordinator Paula Johns visited Senior Carson Blocker’s job site. Carson provided not only a wealth of information on the cotton industry and how it’s planted, tended, and harvested, but he also answered some of Mrs. Johns' questions about the equipment by showing her firsthand as he harvested a row. You never know--some of the cotton products in your world just may have been farmed by one of our very own students! CHS WBL students are making their mark in a wide variety of ways. CMS Junior BETA members Mateo Tepetate, Yaritza Vaquero-Jahuey, Azariah Valentine and Richard Stephens made up the Musicology team for the Georgia State BETA Convention. They had to take a 50 question test before the convention, and they made it into the top 8 schools that competed face to face at the convention. Although they didn't place in the top 5, they finished 7th out of 75 schools! Way to go, guys...this is a major accomplishment! #RoarANDSoar #Betafamous

💛🖤💛 📝Students across the district have been working on their annual MLK Writing Competition pieces! This year, students focused on one of our 4Cs and wrote about how leaders have communicated change to make the world fairer for everyone!📝 💛🖤💛 🍦🖊️📚At CES, for the first round of the competition, each grade level named and recognized the top five MLK writers! These awesome Tiger writers were treated to an ice cream, journals to decorate, and a new pen to continue on their writing journey. 🍦🖊️📚 👏Congratulations to these writers and good luck to them as they compete in the next round of the competition to determine a top-five for the K-2 and 3-5 grade bands!👏 #ReadySetGrow #MLK

It was an unforgettable experience, and we couldn't be prouder of their hard work! 🥉 Rhett Barnicoat secured a 5th place win in 4th Grade Science. Way to go, Rhett! 🧪👏 🎨 Christopher Wyatt Castle showcased his artistic skills, securing the 5th spot in Onsite Drawing. Amazing talent, Christopher! 🖌️✨ 💃 Madison Williams set the stage on fire with her Solo, Duo, Trio Dance, clinching the 4th place.
