We are so proud of our ESOL students who made great growth this year! They celebrated with Blizzard treats donated by Claxton Dairy Queen! We appreciate DQ supporting our CES students. Thank you to Mrs. Hannah Lanier and her crew for preparing the treats. #CES #ClaxtonDairyQueenRocks

On Tuesday, May 23rd, CMS held its House Celebration. All students were invited to participate in games such as tug of war, sponge relay, hula hoop relay, and dress relay. Students who met their MAP goals for the spring testing session were given tickets to dunk their teachers in the dunking booth. The house that won the most points for the year was the House of Reveur, and those students received a free snack and drink from the concession stand. Congratulations to the House of Reveur, and a shout out to all students who met their MAP testing goal!

Please help ECCSS recognize and celebrate Ashley Cerro Montoya, a 10th-grade student at CHS!
Ashley was selected to participate in the Migrant Education Summer Leadership Academy (MESLA) at Valdosta State University (VSU).
The two-week residential program is designed to expose participants to campus life at VSU through activities and classes with VSU faculty and staff. The program emphasizes the importance of students earning a high school diploma. The program is also designed to help current eligible migrant education students improve their math, social studies, and science skills, so that they may be better prepared to fulfill the requirements for high school graduation in Georgia. In addition to academic instruction, students will participate in other fun activities, including a ropes course, swimming instruction, a movie, and soccer.
Congrats, Ashley! We wish you all the best at MESLA!

Eighth grade students studied the rights and responsibilities of juveniles, as well as the steps in the juvenile justice system. Students worked together to design infographics and board games to share their understanding and help teach both sixth and seventh graders about the law. Eight Grade students were able to meet with community partners, including our SROs and Ms. Charter and Ms. Brady from the Department of Juvenile Justice to ask questions and share their scenarios for the games. Even though the project was designed by our CMS 8th graders, 6th and 7th grade social studies students also benefited. #4Cs #PBL
