CMS hosted a 6th grade orientation event for the current CES 5th graders. The students walked from CES to CMS and were greeted by the CMS Tiger Trustees who took them on a tour of CMS. They also got to spin the RCA House Wheel and find out which house family they will be a part of when they are 6th graders in the fall. Mrs. McDowell and Mrs. Rushing and some of the Tiger Trustee students went over important information and allowed them to ask questions. We were very excited to have our upcoming 6th graders in our home this week, and we look forward to you being a part of our CMS Tiger family in August!

There will be a 9th grade orientation held on May 23rd, at 5:00 PM, in the CMS/CHS Cafetorium. Please see attached flyer for details.

6th grade students in Mrs. Myers's science class are embarking on an exciting exploration of minerals. These young geologists are immersing themselves in studying minerals and discovering their formation, properties, and types. Through hands-on activities, group discussions, and learning games, the students are gaining a deeper understanding of Earth's hidden gems. These 6th graders are developing scientific knowledge and fostering an appreciation for the intricate beauty of our planet's geological wonders.

8th grade student, Breanna Stephens, shared some of her artistic knowledge with Mrs. Nicoli's 5th period art class. Breanna, an Evans County 4-H member, adapted her DPA project on art backgrounds into a digital presentation that she used to teach the mini lesson to Mrs. Nicoli's class. The students learned that there are different backgrounds used in comics, and then they were able to practice drawing their own comic. Great job, Breanna!
