Friday, May 10 was the last day these Class of 2023 students walked the halls of CHS as students. CMS and CHS celebrated them with a Senior Walk. Their next big walk will be Saturday, May 20 at 8AM at the Pecan Grove. #WeLoveOurSeniors #ClassOf2023
Claxton Middle honored athletes with an athletic banquet on Tuesday night. We are very proud of our students' athletic accomplishments, and we applaud you on an outstanding performance!

Our K-12 grade-level winners and FDRESA top finishers from the Young Georgia Authors and our CHS FLEX top three finishing businesses were recognized. CHS students who qualified for nationals in Beta and Culinary Arts received special recognition. Grade-level winners from the City of Hagan's Georgia Cities Week Coloring and Writing Competitions were recognized.
Dr. Blocker presented our ECCSS School Nutrition Program staff with a certificate for School Lunch Hero Day!

REMINDER...All CMS library books are due by May 19th. Students can bring their books to the media center to return them any time before then. Chromebooks and chargers will be collected on the following schedule: 7th Grade-Thursday, May 18th; 8th Grade-Friday, May 19th; 6th Grade-Monday, May 22nd.

CMS will be hosting a 6th grade student and parent orientation event on Monday, May 22nd, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Please join us to receive important information about your child's transition from 5th grade to 6th grade. We hope to see you there!
Reminder for Class of 2023 students: please make sure you have turned in all Chromebooks, chargers, & library books ASAP. This needs to be taken care of by the end of the day on Thursday, May 18. Emails were sent Friday afternoon to seniors who have not completed this task.
The students in Ms. Murphy and Mrs. Barrow’s Kindergarten class participated in a hands-on experiment to learn how pollen is spread from flowers. The students used Cheetos to represent pollen on their fingers to pollinate all the flowers in the classroom. #CES #ExcellenceLeadershipFamily
Christy Kangeter, owner-operator of multiple businesses in Bryan County, visited Mrs. Lane's Entrepreneurship class on Friday, May 5. Mrs. Kangeter shared different aspects of her businesses and what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. Christy and her husband, Doug, operate Gator Logging, The Crazy Daisy, Hwy 280 Package Shop, and will soon be opening their newest business- Sugar on Main, an ice cream and sandwich shop, in Pembroke.

The Evans County Afro American Society cordially invites the community to our annual baccalaureate ceremony. The ceremony will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Thomas Grove AME Church. The message to the Claxton High School Class of 2023 will be delivered by Pastor Melaine M. Griffin of the Prayer Pushers Ministries of Claxton. The baccalaureate ceremony will begin at 10am. We are asking for the seniors to wear cap and gown to the ceremony and arrive by 9:30am.
