What is FLEX? FLEX was created with one goal in mind – to spark an entrepreneurial spirit in students. Program developers knew that with the right mix of sacrifices and rewards, students would learn to launch successful small businesses of their own that would eventually lead to a more vibrant, robust economy for the local community. Students compete in three rounds of competition with the final round including a “Shark Tank'' style presentation given before a final winner is announced. The rules of the competition are simple, and the prizes are big – up to $5,000 for the winning team – making this competition fun and competitive for all teams that enter. The competition culminates in a Statewide competition where local winners compete for the FLEX State Champion title. Our community is proud to partner with FLEX to give our students the opportunity to build a better future for themselves, and our local economy! #TheDen

A little rain couldn't keep parents and fans away on Wednesday, September 27th, as the CMS Tigers celebrated their 8th grade athletes, cheerleaders, band members and a victory over Jenkins County. The win came through in all parts of the game as the offense, defense, and special teams battled all four quarters. The defense forced a turnover, allowing the Tiger offense to go to victory formation and take a knee. Tigers will finish the regular season at 3-3. We are proud of our 8th grade participants, and we look forward to more great things at CHS in the future!! #RoarANDSoar

Ms. Sapp and Mrs. Liberatore's class made an awesome fall bulletin board that was all about friendship! 🍂 They used their handprints in red, orange and yellow to make a tree with fall leaves. The students created mini versions of themselves and connected them hand-in-hand under the tree to show caring. This art project was a cool way to think about fall coming, being your own person, and supporting each other. The class really came together to make something colorful and meaningful! #RoarANDSoar

Firefighting students used a training prop with sheetrock walls and a top to demonstrate ventilation limited fires versus fuel limited fires. This simulation of a house fire also showed students how small amounts of water to cool the gas layer can slow fire growth. This simulation also shows the importance of staying low by showing the heat line on the wall. They also discussed how during mop-up, it's important to look for hidden fires and impacts of damage of evidence if too many things are moved during mop-up. #TheDen #RealLife
