REMINDER....The sponsors and members of the CMS Junior Beta Club are delighted to invite you to the induction ceremony of new members on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the CMS cafetorium. We share your joy in this celebration, and sincerely hope that you can join us.

The National Junior Beta Club is an academic honor society for students in grades 4-8, focusing on achievement, character, leadership, and service. Junior Beta Club recognizes and celebrates high academic performance, while also fostering personal development, developing leadership, and serving the community. The Junior Beta motto is “Let us lead by serving others.”

During the ceremony, our new members will be formally recognized and presented with their membership certificates and pins. This is a special milestone for our students as they take on the responsibility of upholding the values of Junior Beta and committing themselves to leadership and service within both our school and community.

We would be honored by your presence as we celebrate the accomplishments of these outstanding students and welcome them into the CMS Junior Beta family.

🚗 Note: There are parking changes in place specifically for Homecoming, so please review the maps carefully before arriving.

Let’s make sure everyone arrives safely and ready to celebrate our Claxton Tiger Homecoming 2025! 🖤💛

Hendrix St. Extension will be closed between Perkins Mill Road and Wisteria Lane starting tomorrow. This road closure is expected to remain in effect for approximately 2-3 weeks.

This road closure will also impact the parking area for the football stadium. At the end of tomorrow night's game, attendees will exit the parking lot at the gate closest to the high school.

👨‍🏭🔥Mr. Chase Turner’s Agriculture Mechanics class at CHS is learning the importance of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) ✅ and what does NOT count as PPE 🚫. Students began hands-on training with the cutting torch by practicing safe techniques while cutting metal. 🔥They have also learned how to use a cutting torch on different thicknesses of metal, building skill and confidence with every cut! 💪⚙️

The school nutrition staff at CES had fun today going tropical with their leis and glasses in celebration of Homecoming!

💡🎥 3rd Grade Shines Bright in STEM!

Our creative 3rd graders worked in groups to design and build light-up movie posters using LittleBits technology! ⚡️💛
They combined teamwork, creativity, and engineering to make their posters truly light up the room! 🌟

📚✨ Our Government students FLIPPED the classroom this week! Instead of just sitting back and listening, they became the teachers—planning lessons, leading activities, and even creating assessments for their peers. 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

This project gave students the chance to take ownership of their learning, strengthen communication & teamwork, and engage deeply with content they’ll see again on benchmarks. 💡🙌

They taught each other:
🏛 Legislative Branch – Bicameral legislature & how a bill becomes a law
🇺🇸 Executive Branch – Roles of the president & the line of succession
⚖️ Judicial Branch – Court jurisdiction & judicial activism vs. restraint
