Students at The Den are engaged in projects that connect to our school and our community. Art, Ag, and Culinary students are creating items that will be part of the Rotary Auction. These students are also creating items to benefit the students and staff at CHS and the public! We have our first students in the Manufacturing Engineering Technology Pre-Apprenticeship Program. We’re excited about these opportunities for our kids, community, and workforce!

Members of the CHS Admin Team, Dr. Paul Mizell, Mrs. Angie Snyder, and Mrs. Holly Durrence, shared CHS information and celebrations during the ECCSS Board of Education (BOE) meeting last night.
CHS is committed to "something different" for students and staff! Members of CHS's staff collaborated to plan engaging pre-planning and first-day activities for staff and students. Each day, teachers are working to create learning experiences that engage students. So far, something different is paying off at CHS! All students earned the break incentive, and the staff is working to keep the momentum going!

On Friday, August 5th, CMS held First Friday. Students went to the gym during 7th period, and the four houses (Amistad, Reveur, Isibindi, and Altruismo) competed against each other in a game of dodgeball. The House of Amistad won the student battle, and they had to play against the teachers and staff. In a very heated battle, the teacher/staff team came out victorious, but the House of Amistad gave them a big fight! First Friday is a new initiative at CMS to help promote good attendance, good behavior, and better student academic performance. Congratulations to the House of Amistad!

Ms. Mikell’s 4th grade class is learning about place value and the times 10 rule. The students created 4-6 digit numbers and discussed whether or not it met the times 10 rule. They then discussed the relationship between the various digits. Lastly, they used base ten blocks to concretely demonstrate the value of each number they created.

Due to inclement weather, there will be no CMS softball practice today (Friday, August 5th).
Please contact Coach Floyd (jfloyd@evanscountyschools.org) if you have questions or need more information.
