Yes, it was Twisted Tuesday yesterday, and we had some interesting characters on campus at CHS! We ALSO hosted our CHS ELA YGA Portfolio Project Launch!
Check out these pics of students actively engaging with writing yesterday! Ms. Hedden, Ms. Brantley, Ms. Sowell, Ms. Francis, Mr. Lanier, Ms. Rabich, and Ms. Kirby collaborated to prep materials to make sure students collaborated, studied and used models of different genres of writing, participated in shares of their writing, and lots more!
The toddlers and elderly folks present inspired lots of great writing, and we appreciate all our teachers and students are pouring into their YGA Portfolios this year! We can't wait to read our students' writing!

Students in Ms. Adams's 6th grade Career Class are learning how to write and sign checks and how to maintain a transaction register correctly. This is a life skill that is part of their JA Biztown curriculum that prepares them to be productive citizens.

Dr. Tonya Blocker, Director of our ECCSS School Nutrition Program (SNP), shared SNP information and celebrations during the ECCSS Board of Education (BOE) meeting on Monday evening.
SNP is committed to excellence for students and staff, and this was reflected in their recent perfect scores in their health inspections! Dr. Blocker also shared about Harvest of the Month, a program that partners SNP, the UGA Extension Service, and GADOE to serve locally farmed and harvested food items in cafeteria meals. Dr. Blocker highlighted some CHS and SNP partnerships: Breakfast Break Fridays and an upcoming Cinnamon Roll Class. These efforts are helping our CHS students engage with our SNP in ways that will serve them in college, careers, and life!
