
1st graders participated in Dr. Seuss rotations where they read Yertle the Turtle, made turtles out of paper plates, and did turtle stacking in Ms. Oliver’s and Mrs. Keyfauver’s class.

Thank you to Brian Croft, Deputy Cheif of Evans County Fire Department and teacher for the CHS Firefighter 1 - Intro to Public Safety class, and his students for coming to share a book on wildfires and fire safety with two of our classes.
We are also recognizing our military, on this day, in appreciation for helping to protect our "Freedom" to read and so many others. Thank you Mr. Croft for your service in the U.S. Air Force.

8th grader Kamryn Carter kicked off her year as Miss CMS by participating in Read Across America week at Claxton Elementary School. She read the book "Pete the Cat - I Love My White Shoes" to Mrs. Hendrix's kindergarten class. She also had the opportunity to meet Mayor Terry Branch while visiting at CES.
