Students in the CHS Leadership class taught by Ms. Francis are learning how the art of storytelling connects to leadership. Guest speaker Pastor Mike Lyons visited the Leadership class to model the art of storytelling. ECCSS was alerted to an alleged threat made on social media. The Claxton Police Department has investigated, and the threat doesn’t appear credible. While it appears this threat is one of a series of hoaxes currently circulating on social media, all threats made against our schools are taken very seriously and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
ECCSS will have extra officers on site this week; additional safety protocols will be implemented as needed.
Thank you to our students and staff for reporting concerns. Also, we appreciate concerned parents and families who are supervising their kids' social media and notifying law enforcement and school administrators when anything is questionable, and we ask that you continue these practices. CHS Homecoming is on October 4, at 7:30 PM, at Veterans Memorial Field, at Tiger Town Stadium. CHS will play Metter. The theme this year is Tigers Got the Beat! There are lots of fun activities are planned, including SPIRIT WEEK from September 30-October4, and a homecoming parade on October 3, at 4:30 PM.

Please see the updated press release below regarding a threat made to Claxton Elementary School after school today. ECCSS commends our Claxton Police Department and our school officials for their actions this afternoon. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.

After school today at 3:55 PM, ECCSS implemented lockdown protocols after being notified by authorities of a threatening phone call. Safety sweeps revealed no threats. All students and staff are safe; all lockdowns have been lifted.
