Evans County School System Named National Beta District of Distinction
Claxton, Georgia – National Beta is proud to announce Evans County School System as a 2023-2024 National District of Distinction. This award is given to those deserving districts who offer National Beta in all schools in their district, and who induct qualifying students in all eligible grades (4‐12). Dr. Waters states, "This recognition is meant for the students who have taken advantage of
every academic opportunity. Through their hard work and commitment, great things have
happened including state and national competitions. A special thank you to our BETA sponsors for going the extra mile to support our students in becoming college, career, and community ready!"
Award recipients received a National Beta District of Distinction award to proudly display at
their district office. In addition, National Beta District of Distinction principals received a plaque to display at their school.

Remembering Mrs. Connie Strickland
We shared the sad news last week of Mrs. Connie Strickland's passing. Mrs. Strickland was a pillar of our Tiger community, always ready with a warm welcome and a helping hand. Her dedication and commitment to our Tigers touched the lives of countless students, staff, parents, families, and community members.
Mrs. Strickland is a member of our retiring class of 2024, and we wanted to take another moment to recognize her legacy. Please help us remember Mrs. Strickland's kindness and the impact she made on all of us!

So often this year we have mentioned the diversity of employment and experiences that our Work-Based Learning students have enjoyed. New CHS alumnus Cristian Vicente-Atjun spent his WBL year in employment with Benitez Painting. Mrs. Johns, WBL coordinator, visited him recently on a job site in Statesboro and observed his skill with the painting equipment. He paused long enough for a picture with his supervisor, Mr. Fulicer Benitez. Cristian plans to remain with Benitez Painting and the construction industry as he attends OTC to pursue a career in electrical sciences. We are very proud of you, Cristian! #TheDEN #BlackAndGoldBuildingSuccess
