Our Tigers just belted out a serenade to a favorite barnyard friend, the cow! After reading some barnyard riddles, our Tigers used music to revisit what they read!

🐍 Summer Flashback! 🐍
A month ago, we had an exciting visit from Larry Saylor, a representative of the Evans County Wildlife Club! He showed our students a snake and shared fascinating facts about these amazing creatures. It's a wonderful reminder of the fun and learning experiences we had as we continue to explore and enjoy wildlife this summer! 🌞🌿📚

Writing fun was in the air during our annual Spring Writing Celebration at the Evans County Public Fishing Area (PFA)! Winners from our K-12 district writing contests were definitely in their "Writer Era" as they competed in a series of events, including a Getting to Know You Found Writing Challenge, Fearless Fin Tales, Mad Libs, Heart Pumping and Ideas Flowing, Casting Fish Tales, Lunch Lotto, Writing Remix, Story Rocks, Dice, and Critters, and a Bubble Wand Challenge. Throughout the day, our students also worked to demonstrate their Seven Mindset (social emotional learning) and 4C (communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking) skills. We are thankful to our students, staff, community volunteers, and the Evans County PFA for making this celebration possible! #WeLoveOurTigerWriters #CelebrateOurStudents #SpringWritingCelebration2024

🌿 Claxton 5th Graders Explore Okefenokee Swamp! 🌿
This year, 74 fifth graders from Claxton Elementary had an amazing trip to the Okefenokee Swamp on May 16th, thanks to family support, fundraisers, and a grant from The Canoochee EMC. Activities included a boat ride, a train tour, an ecology class, and dipnetting for tadpoles and crawfish. Chick-Fil-A lunches were a hit too! Huge thanks to everyone who made this trip possible! 🐢🛶📚

Please help us spread the reminder, Tiger Nation!
INDIVIDUAL STUDENT GMAS REPORTS AND REPORT CARDS WENT HOME LAST WEEK!
If your child was in any of the following subjects/grade-levels, he or she should have a GMAS report detailing achievement this year:
-3rd-8th grade ELA
-5th grade science
-8th grade social studies
-8th grade physical science
-High school American literature
-High school biology
-High school US history
Please note that the state of Georgia will not share GMAS results for math until later in the fall. This is due to this being the first GMAS for the math standards that Georgia adopted in 2021-2022 and fully implemented with updated GMAS assessments this school year. Those GMAS results will be shared after we receive them from the state.
Please review your child's GMAS results and talk with them about their achievement.
If you need a copy of your child’s GMAS results, report cards, or other achievement data for your Tiger, please stop by your child’s school on Monday-Thursday, between 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM, from June 3-June 20th. Please note that all ECCSS offices will be closed on June 19th in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
Schools will return to normal hours for the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, July 8.
Have questions? Please don’t hesitate to contact us!
