🎓✨ CMS Names REACH Scholars for Class of 2029! ✨🎓
Claxton Middle School is thrilled to recognize our Class of 2029 REACH scholars: Antonny Poroj Arroyo, Chloe Blocker, La’lanee Fields, and Nancy Perez! These remarkable 8th graders were honored as scholarship recipients at the CMS REACH Ceremony held on Thursday, November 14, 2024. 🏅
The Georgia REACH (Realizing Educational Achievement Can Happen) scholarship supports students by providing academic, social, and financial resources to help them succeed in high school, attend college, and achieve their goals. After an interview process on September 20, 2024, these scholars signed their REACH contracts, committing to academic excellence, good attendance, and positive behavior.
💰 Upon graduating from high school, each scholar will receive a $10,000 scholarship to help fund their college education. This scholarship is made possible by the state of Georgia, the Evans County Charter Schools, and the Strickland Foundation.
A special thanks to Mrs. Sabrina Mincey, CMS Counselor and REACH process facilitator, who shared:
“I would like to congratulate each of our scholarship recipients and thank the parents, Evans County Charter School Board members, Claxton First Church for their generous support, and Mrs. Angie Synder, CMS Principal. I also extend my gratitude to the Claxton High School Culinary Arts class and Mrs. Cindy Hart for preparing the delicious food for the reception.”
👏 Let’s celebrate these amazing students and their bright futures!

📚✨ 6th Graders Dive into Real-World Skills at JA BizTown! ✨📚
Our CMS 6th graders recently visited Georgia Southern University, Savannah Campus, to take part in the JA BizTown® Experience – an exciting hands-on learning opportunity that brings classroom concepts to life! 🏙️📝
Through JA BizTown, students in Ms. Moore's career classes learned what it’s like to run a business, manage money, and even vote for a mayor! They gained a firsthand look at what it means to be citizens, workers, and consumers in a community, building essential skills for the future. 💼💵
Here’s what our students are taking away from this experience:
A deeper understanding of the free enterprise system and the roles they play in it.
Money management skills, including banking and economic concepts.
Insight into community responsibilities, rights, and soft skills for success in the workplace.
We’re so proud of these future leaders and can’t wait to see how they apply these lessons in their journey ahead! 🌟 #CMSFutureLeaders #JABizTown #RealWorldLearning #CareerEducation
